Re: 2024 NRL Grand Final: Teams and Game Day
I can’t be the only one to notice that Penrith’s “grind” (which clearly wins games of finals football) is miles apart from the Raiders grind that our coach is obsessed with. Yes it was a tough, intense game with everything on the line - but you notice the panthers still looking to offload, still pla...

Re: Coaching issues 2024
Despite the numerous Coaching Issues in 2024, do you think if Madge takes the Broncos role, Sticky will go to the Club and ask if he can put his name in the ring for the Blues job again? It’s just a question Yes he needs to focus on the Raiders blah blah blah but would be great to have the State Co...

Re: Zac Woolford signs with Huddersfield Giants
We always looked good with him out there, it’s a shame we couldn’t give him more opportunities. A real career late-bloomer.
Its staggering that other hookers were preferred over him in his time here.
Good luck to him - he will kill it in the UK Super League if he’s up for it.

There you go, Rickamando - the man management of the great Ricky Stuart on display for all to see. It’s great to see. The best outcome for the club, I’m glad both sides worked to salvage the situation. There’s going to be some Simone Biles-level gymnastics from a few posters here - plenty were sayi...

Re: Coaching issues 2024
Not bagging them at all. It's just fact. I think that might be a dubby. And as I always say, who signed and re-signed that spine? Stuart doesn’t get a pass mark on winning 12 games with a terrible spine if he’s the one that recruited said spine. And as I say in response - The Raiders are in a uniqu...

Re: Coaching issues 2024
Really there was only one big change in personnel from last year, and the football played and results ended up about the same. It was a bit of a false start as far as a full rebuild kicking off. I’d guess next year will be closer to what I expected this year given the forced changes. This “rebuild”...

Re: Horsburgh requests release
Sticky saying he wants him at the Club but 'his way'. I presume that means he doesn't want him to turn up to pre-season as the Michelin Man but as a professional athlete who has looked after himself in the off season. That’s what every coach wants. What measurable systems are we going to put in pla...

Re: Coaching issues 2024
I don't understand how we go into yesterday's game with the idea of NOT bombing to Savage but instead targeting Lomax all day. Even if it was some tactic to remove his running on play 2 or something, why we didn't immediately switch it up at half time chasing points. To me that's the perfect example...

Re: 2024 Round 27 v Dragons: Game Day
Great to finish the year with three wins. All hard earned against decent opposition. Looking ahead, hopefully some of our developing players gain confidence from this year‘s experiences, and we see a better style of play next year. Something that is more sustainable across a 26 round season - combin...

Re: 2024 Round 27 v Dragons: Game Day
That final Horse try - it’s exactly the kind of natural instinctive football that has been all but completely coached out of this squad by our Stone Age coach. Can’t you give the anti Ricky schtick just a five second break. I’m far from Stuart’s number one supporter, but every unsuccessful play isn...

Anyone think Ethan Strange might be the problem? 11? Games in. No. Just no. Hope people don’t forget he is a right side rookie playing his first year in the halves on the left hand side. I think this is a clue as to why his passing game has not clicked in yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Ver...

Re: Storm not interested in releasing Tyran Wishart to Raiders
A valid point no doubt, but I still think Canberra itself is largely to blame. A new coach won’t change that. I’ve said we’d need to pay 2 million a year to even get someone like Joey Manu interested. We can’t compete with Sydney/QLD clubs or the elite system Melbourne has Possibly. But only one of...

Geez $850k? Not worth that much. Canberra tax. We have to pay overs. It would require $850k from us, $500k for literally anyone else. *Ricky Stuart tax Why would you leave the best coach in the game to come and play under one of the worst? You’d need almost double the salary to consider it

Horse being unfit and having a poor off season; Horse headbutting and punching blokes because he has the emotional regulation of a 5 year old is entirely on him. It's professional sport and he needs to take responsibility and to carry himself professionally. Rocky called it out as he should. The cl...

Those stats tell me we could have a quality first grade teams on our hands if we had a first grade quality dummy half on the books. The Broncos had a terrible season and definitely need an upgrade at 9. I reckon Danny Levi would look good in their colours. Just a pity their current option is relate...

Re: Horsburgh requests release
He's now played 2 good games for us at NRL level this season. Big whoop! He had a good year in 2023 but apart from that his output has been a poor return on investment. At 26, if he can't pull his head in he will be just another guy who never achieved his potential. If he does that and stays here, ...

Corey just needs to go somewhere where his boss doesn’t have a 1950’s approach both to coaching football and interpersonal relationships. We will see the best of Big Red somewhere else.
