Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita
I reckon Fifita would be the best second rower in the comp again pretty quickly if he was playing off the back of a middle rotation of Papa, Tapine, Ata, Horse and Mooney. That seriously is the highest ceiling Raiders middle rotation I remember since the 90's. He would still be a great signing. Pre...

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
There is also the continuing controversy as to whether the new stadium would make money (see report from the Guardian below) or lose money (see report from the ABC below). Is the view optimistic or pessimistic. Interesting that the optimists include 7 NRL games per year. Controversial new Tasmanian...

Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews *Teams p1
I’m not uncomfortable with the situation with Hors. He is a very good footballer and was outstanding for us at the start of last season. I think he has a bit a maturing to do and I’m not entirely convinced he takes his conditioning as seriously as he should. I suspect he will fight his way into the ...

raiders leagues should build something then charge the brumbies, concerts and soccer to use it - leave the mayor of Queanbeyan with egg on his face and a stadium he can't use. Some of the analysis on our best wing options that is occurring here is quite outstanding but the credibility of it all is a little shaky when it is being put forward by folks who until recently were vehemently defending Crabtric position in the team.

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
Next year we will have Whitehead (estimated $600,000), Cotric ($600,000), Rapana ($500,000) coming off contract and do t look like being resigned. Coupled with the potential medical retirement of CHN. I would have thought there’s enough to sign both Fifita and a decent hooker. Given we may potentia...

Levi comeback epitomises Raiders' grit in 2024 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KuzL71J7L4 Well-travelled hooker Danny Levi’s early-season renaissance has been a microcosm of Canberra’s gritty, expectations-defying start to 2024. “It’s something you can’t fault the boys on, the effort areas – they ...

Have you actually watched those teams play? Because I have and rest assured Levi based on output thus far isn’t playing ahead of any of Lussick, Randall, Verrills, Smith, Watson and Croker. Based on what? Your opinion? And you saying he'd be in the mix for those clubs is also based on... drum roll ...

So many options, but I’m still of the strong view that Danny Levi is the best 9 in the club and is who Ricky will pick when the team is announced tomorrow. Must have missed this so I’ll ask again! Re: 2024 Round 3 v Warriors: Game Day
Probably late to the party here, but I was ok with our game. Sure we lost, and thats sad. But in years gone by we would have leaked points, dropped balls, kicked out on the full etc etc and been well and truly thumped. The fact we were in that game up to our eyeballs all the way is a great sign of ...

Re: 2024 Round 3 v Warriors: Game Day
Woolford stinks. Woolfords form in NSW Cup this year has been good and in todays match it was outstanding. All he needs is opportunity. But that comes down to one Coach making the correct decision on team selection. We've seen over the past 2 seasons how much better the FG side goes with Woolf in t...

You’re looking at the wrong names in my opinion. Stewart and Sanders I think are 2025 propositions. Personally i think we blantantly breach the salary cap and risk crippling points deductions and massive fines and simply give the man a duffle bag full of high valued goods and cash. A Gucci bag with the deed to a house, keys to a BMW, speed boat and 500k cash should solve this problem for us. Righ...
