Not quite sure what we gained from that trial. I’m not fussed about the result, it’s a trial and we were disjointed with all the substitutions. Just not sure what we worked on, what we took confidence from and what we gained from it all. There was a lot to dislike in that second half.

Not sure how this is a debate. If he gets medically cleared he's back training and part of our squad. If he's not cleared then medical retirement is likely. He gets paid his contract in full but it doesn't count against the cap. I don't see any grey area here. You see grey yet NR? :roflmao Still no...

Fair half from the lads. I think it would be better to run a more settled side for longer minutes in the last trial before season kick off rather than cycling through a lot of guys that won’t get seen in firsts again this year.

Re: Corey Harawira-Naera has likely played last game in green
Once the NRL approves its a medical retirement he gets paid regardless. The club pays the player and they make the insurance claim. If it's denied, they still get the cap exemption but are out of pocket. Might be why Burgess was paid over multiple years for his "medical retirement". So th...

Christian Welch walks away from the last two years of his $600k/year salary leaving $1.2m on the table. Clubs like Melbourne are so lucky they can negotiate outcomes like this. Welch was within his rights to spend the next 2 years seeking medical support to try to overcome his back issues and collec...

Re: Canberra Raiders reject Jamal Fogarty’s request to explore the open market
The club knows what Fogs offers and waiting until round 6 to make a decision on whether we want an additional 12 months of what he offers isn’t really about Fogs. The key determining factor is Sanders and how he slots in. 6 weeks isn’t a long time to make that call and this suggests to me we are lik...

Agree that Ricky has proven a very good coach of forwards over a long time. But I too have been long concerned about his halfback coaching. I’ve had increased hope through the improvements we’ve seen in both Sezer and Fogarty. The proof will be in the Sanders pudding and maybe Ricky has realised he...

Re: Raiders sign English second rower Matty Nicholson to end 2027
I really hope they didn't bulk him up too much. My main concern about him is his mobility in defense. I think it is a bit of broader problem and I speculate Ricky might be at the core of it. Cotric and HSS both got too big and lost what made them good. I’m worried about Savage. He’s shown no signs ...
