The league’s worst actor?

Cracked up watching the Tigers Panthers game. Toward the end of the game Maloney was pushed whilst chasing a chip through by Cleary. Tried to milk a penalty. The slow mo of his flailing arms and tragic dive was dead set hilarious - as good as I’ve seen in any European soccer game (and a total failur...

According to totalrl.com both Williams (who scored a hat trick on the weekend) and French Captain Theo Fages may be Canberra bound.

Jack is an experienced player in training as a half. Williams is an experience player, playing for England as a half. Logic suggests getting Williams on board is a good move.

Seems a little harsh. The guy plays for England but is not good enough for a team that struggles to make the finals? I’ll take the risk he’ll make the cut 😁

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

How about if while the presumption of innocence is in effect, but for good optics you have to stand player down (I.e DeBelin) you can apply for dispensation and get it, BUT if the player is found guilty they lose the cap dispensation and have to get cap compliant again (shed players) this way it’s ...

Definitely not Australian or for that matter NZ psyche. Move the Haka to post game wins???? The Clap has given the Raiders huge media attention. One day the Club will get back to the winners circle and when that happens, with a full stadium, it’ll seriously pump our players and get into the heads o...

Re: Michael Ennis joins Canberra Raiders as coaching consultant

I also hate the Viking clap now. Loses SO much significance when we then run out and play like busted **** afterwards. I agree, It Should be saved for big games, it’s pretty sad towards the end of the season when there is 8,000 people doing it while we play already out of the finals race. Sent from...

Austin's lost us more games in the last 2 seasons than any other player. One 15 minute blitzkrieg against the Bulldogs doesnt change much What it does do is make me sad. As Blake Austin showed last night and has showed in a number of games, he's a hell of a player at his peak. That 15 minutes is wh...

EDIT. Also, given Ricky’s love of playing out of position - J Bateman as 5/8th? He’s versatile enough.

Re: Canberra Raiders to sign Bateman and Sutton

Players at that level are well capable of playing in numerous positions. I’m sure Ricky will be able to find one for him. I’d certainly prefer a proven international over an unproven prop (which is all $400k will get you). In any case, I’m not convinced on the big bopper strategy - certainly didn’t ...

Some of you folk are very hard to please. Cameron Smith finally charged for chicken wishbone tackle. He lifts and turns players legs more than any other player in the game. I think he did it 5 times in the semifinal they beat us in. He’s a grub. That charge into Croker’s dodgy knee was a disgrace that cost Jarrod his one chance of a real r...

Re: Canberra in contract stand-off as stars told to reduce pay demands or face the axe

Ref all the discussion on best places to live. My original point was simply that Canberra is not that bad a place that we need to pay massive overs to get players here. The issue is that good players want to play in a comp winning team or get paid a shed load of money to join a lesser team. The Raid...

Hope and dread - not a good formula for a happy afternoon. I’ll be at the game cheering of course. I hope they axe the Viking clap until we get a few wins. It seems terribly ironic at the moment. OK, maybe not a good example. Lets try a different way. If we had Melbournes winning record and Bellemy as coach would we still need to pay overs? I suggest not much if any more than Melbourne does now.

Re: Canberra in contract stand-off as stars told to reduce pay demands or face the axe

The issue here is whilst I agree with the club's stance, everyone seems to have forgotten how hard it is to get players with the ceiling of Papalli and Paulo here. Even Paulo was here due to a fallout rather than a planned move. We've always had to pay overs because no one wants to come to Canberra...

Everyone is angry and quite rightly, frustrated. But step back for a moment and have a look at the team Ricky has assembled. True the ref’s made some strange calls - especially the non off-side for the Titans with 5 mins to go. But what the hell??? Why were they in a position after an 18-0 start to be stressed about 50/50 calls???? NOT the refs fault. Sent from my iPhone using The Greenhouse mobile app powered by Tapatalk

Part of the reason for the success in 2016 was the surprise factor. Maybe Sticky is planning another surprise attack? Well we’ll find out tomorrow how successful his strategy is. Fingers crossed he’s got it right.
