Re: Ex Raiders... where are they now?
Schneider was fine. Calm, made his kicks and tackles and got the right side going with a few tries. Nothing special but he didn't need to be as Edwards, Yeo and Luai were outstanding. Penrith were excellent and the scoreline looked close but Roosters were well beaten. It was a good game. I like watc...

Re: Why Corey Parker is off Ricky Stuart’s Christmas card list
I said in another post that he's one of my least favourite commentators. He loves putting the boot into us. The guy has been perennially criticising the club, particularly during a period of last year when he said we wouldn't make the 8 as we would lose all our final 5 games, including against Cante...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita
Guler and Saulo would walk straight into starting prop for a lot of teams. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Agree with this. Either starting in teams like Manly, Souths or on the bench for Penrith, Newcastle, Cronulla, Parra, or Warriors. I deliberately chose teams in contention for the top 8 or ...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
If we sign him, Hosking is on the bench. I'd rather we target a 9. Slim pickings for that position. The only starting hooker I can see coming off contract is Mitch Kenny. Next in line is Karl Lawton who's currently backup to Croker at Manly. ESL? Might be the only viable option. Worked last time. I...

I didn’t see last weeks game. Was whitehead awesome and zac hosking garbage? Zac hosking was one of (if not our) best over the first two weeks and whitehead was well of the pace last year in liability territory… Or is this just another Ricky favourite suck it up thing.. Zac Hosking was one of the b...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
Next year we will have Whitehead (estimated $600,000), Cotric ($600,000), Rapana ($500,000) coming off contract and do t look like being resigned. Coupled with the potential medical retirement of CHN. I would have thought there’s enough to sign both Fifita and a decent hooker. Given we may potential...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
You may be right. Welch has really regressed. Melbourne were rumoured to be after Stefano from Wests but Bellamy would love one of our middles. Even Souths whose middles are weak. Sean Keppie was let go by Manly but was signed by Demetriou but even our middles in NSW Cup are better.

Hoppa has been good IMO. What's he done wrong? I don't think he is a centre but he does a job. Agree with you that Hoppa has had two good games. But the situation is similar to Saulo; he has been good, but in my view there are better players that are not in the team that would make us an even bette...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
I think it’s highly unlikely to be Papa. He’s playing well and close to 300 games and can even break Jason Croker’s record next year. Tapine wanted to play with him and have him in the starting side even though Ricky was going to start him on the bench. I would be willing to give him an extra year a...

Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews *Teams p1
What I like about the team is we really have some pace out wide for a change after several years of Hoppa, Semi, HSS, Croker and Cotric. Even going back to CNK. I'm genuinely excited now about our backline. This will make a difference to not only our attack but also defence. This is needed against W...

We should really beat the Sharks. They are light in the forwards and their bench isn't good. But then again we should have beaten the Warriors after 4 FG players were out

It's about time that Hoppa and Guler were not selected. Schiller and Ata have more upside.
Still don't understand why Horse, a current SOO Qld rep, cannot make the team. If Hosking is in the starting 13, Horse can replace Whitehead or Saulo on the bench.

Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews
I was watching Manly and Parra yesterday. Whilst I think we can grind well, it's clear to be compete against the better sides, we need go have consistency in our squad and develop combinations in attack. We dont have the game to score most of the tries both teams scored. What I would consider: - Lo...

Re: Las Vegas Raiders: Canberra puts hand up for blockbuster trip in 2025
If we get to go, I hope we don't have to play Penrith. We've lost our last 5 games 173-46, for an average of 35-9. That's no good for the game. That's no good for anybody! Actually I don't mind playing them so early and they will be the home team in Vegas (so we would be the away team and not have ...

It’s way overdue we let Fifita go. We offered him a truck load of cash and he turned it down. It’s done, move on. Reminds me of Jim Carrey to the pretty girl he was chasing Lauren Holly in Dumb and Dumber: "So You're Telling Me There's A Chance?" Try an indirect way of trying to sign his ...

As Nickman kind of said, I reckon aside from trolls and people with obvious personal conflicts of interest, it seems like there is a consensus people want to see more of: Mooney Mariota Hosking Schiller Woolford Puru And less of: Guler Saulo Whitehead Hoppa/Cotric Starling Levi Agreed. Re: 2024 Round 3 v Warriors: Game Day
Hosking can poke his nose through the line, better in the air (we at least have an aerial threat), better defender and now better player. He contributes. Hosking is currently proving to provide more in attack than Young. Im pleased we signed him and hopefully we dont muck him around with the bench....

Re: 2024 Round 3 v Warriors: Game Day
I was big on Nic Cotric and had him pencilled in a wing spot for 2024 but he needs to go. He is too slow to be a winger. I am not marking him down for the dropped ball but his lack of pace, athleticism and involvement means he's no longer a walk up start to FG. We saw the decline in Josh Mansour. It...

Re: 2024 Round 3 v Warriors: Game Day
Papa didn't play to his usual standards but he's still a FG. By comparison, I think he's much better than the Bromwich brothers, Christian Welch and JWH. He would get into top 4 sides like Melbourne Storm, even Broncos. And on the bench for Warriors and Penrith. From what I've seen last year and thi...

That was a good performance against the Warriors. But they were without Egan, CNK, Dylan Walker and Niukore, all first graders. Their FB also failed his HIA. We should have beaten them. I think we would have if we had Kris, Horse, Schiller and Ata.

I'm thinking the same about Rapana. Been a great player for us and love his efforts but I think the game is too fast for him as a FB and he's not fast enough as a winger.

Levi was garbage with the ball - in his passing and run selection and defence
But the loss is not on him. We just got outplayed by a better team and didn't capitalise when we were in their 20

At least the game was relatively close. But I'm sick of seeing the same plodders play and offer nothing. Due to our lack of speed, we cannot capitalise on the half breaks made by the likes of Timoko. Kris is a welcome addition, but I don't think neither Hoppa nor Cotric are the answer at wing. Hope ...
