Re: 2024 Rd 3 v Warriors: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
The team was the most likely but disappointing. I can handle Cotric over Schiller/others and I understand needing to bring the captain back in despite also thinking he’s not in our best 17 on ability. But I think a reasonable compromise would’ve been to start Elliott on the bench. This would’ve bee...

Low key I genuinely think the club thinks Horse has another week - he doesn’t need to return via cup. It’s suspension unlike the 36 year old second rower. Also because I’m still annoyed at the Guler selection… 2022: 76 run metres per game 2023: 87 run metres per game Career average of 0.83 tackle b...

I can't see the team lining up the way it's been named. Okay, how do you see them lining up? I think Hosking will start in front of EW But I expect the rest of the side to be as is Whilst I don't believe Whitehead should have walked straight into a starting spot ahead of Hosking who has been one of...

I can see the decision to start Whitehead based on his status as captain but what I can't understand is the insistence on playing fourth string props over genuine talent. It absolutely does my head in.

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
Berry was backtracking on her Raiders at fault claims when she appeared on ABC radio yesterday afternoon and she’d surreptitiously shifted her blame from the Raiders to an unnamed stadium staffer. Her interview with Ross Solly by the way, was 15 minutes of saying the delays in building the stadium ...

Re: 2024 Rd 3 v Warriors: Teams and Previews
Interested to know why people think Cotric should be selected this week over Schiller. Schiller is absolutely tearing it up at NSW cup level and couldn't have really done much more to put his hand up imo. He was unlucky to miss out in round 1 but didn't sook and had a proper crack in NSW cup which i...

Re: 2024 Rd 3 v Warriors: Teams and Previews
If Whitehead must be selected in the 17 then it has to be on the bench imo. Young has a claim on his starting position and dropping him would be unwarranted. Hosking does not own his starting position, however he's currently fourth overall on the Dally M leaderboard.

I'm happy about his quote about the squad all vying for positions, because it's true and fantastic and a great place for the club to be. But god, could we PLEASE stop with all this "Nobody believes in us, we're happy to prove everyone wrong" garbage they all seem to keep spouting? Serious...

Re: 2024 Rd 2 v Tigers: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
The weight of players and the fitness has been a huge focus over the off season. The coaches were not happy with how we showed up physically last season. I think a bit had to do with a new head of performance and Jeremy Hickmans leaving the club at the 11th hour to join the Dolphins. New head of pe...

Foxsports predicting Cotric will drop out , Hoppa to his wing and Kris in. Levi should be good to play. Genuinely the smart thing to do. Cotric hasn't been up to standard for a long time. People who have been around rugby league a long time speak very strongly of Hoppa's abilities. He has more upsi...

Lol they could at least get the starting line up right Thought the same, but maybe it's based on what they expect the highest paid player in each position to be Sent from my SM-S911B using Tapatalk If that's the case then Harawira-Naera should at least be on the bench for Hosking. I think they just...

Worth noting as far as metres per run... Rapana: 7.15 Cotric: 7.3 Timoko: 12.78 (Jesus!) Hoppa: 7.2 Savage: 8.13 So whilst Hoppa had a lot of yards, that's a volume thing more than being particularly good. And there is certainly value in having someone who consistently shows up to take those early ...

Re: 2024 Rd 2 v Tigers: Teams and Previews
Hopoate had 23 runs of the ball i.e. took on a lot of the grunt work which Ricky loves from his back 5 so I'm not hugely confident he will be the one that will make room for Kris. Hoppa is great at those hit ups from our own end. Unfortunately that's all he really offers. Kris can take up some of t...

Re: 2024 Rd 2 v Tigers: Teams and Previews
It should be Kris in for Hopoate. However, I'm not confident that will be the outcome. It's tough for whoever drops out though as I thought they all played well. The bench will likely stay the same imo but I note Saulo only played 22 minutes and Guler 26 minutes... they will probably be rotated to N...

The Knights are an interesting one. When you consider they won what 11 or 12 in a row last year before being beat in NZ, they really haven't been talked about at all before this season. Yes they have lost Dom Young and I also rated Fitzgibbon but they are pretty much the same team as last year. Has...

It won’t all pay off but that is where I’d like to see us become a little more ruthless in turning players over. Some positions we need to be patient and give players time to develop but I worry we sometimes hold on to some guys far too long only to see them reach modest heights. The likes of Valem...

Schuster isn't high on my list but if he could get back to his best it would be a good buy. High risk though, but our options are also running out. Chan Kum Tong would be a great pick up.

Lol this Hopoate project has gone on way too long. But that as the token Ricky surprise for this year, I can live with that. Schiller can feel disappointed Great to see Savage back. Strange at 6 is a good brave move, getting Hoskings and Smithies in there is great and good to see Savage back. I wouldn’t say he has been totally conservative. I don't have a huge issue with the team selections overall. I think the thing that gets me more concerned is the coach has no innovation in him so before a ball is kicked you can see that he'll always revert back to plugging holes in the most conservative fashion hoping to grind out a result. I get...

Levi has only featured in 4 NRL games for us. I am not sure how he has been written off so emphatically. Early in his career, I remember him impressing. To the point where he made the kiwi side. Whilst I don't think he is the long term solution I do think his ceiling is clearly higher than Zac Wool...
