Re: 2024 Round 9 v Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews *Teams p1

And that’s the worst spine I’ve ever seen named in first grade in the NRL era. In 2022 we played the bulldogs in round 9 with the following: 1. CNK 6. Matt Frawley 7. Brad Schneider 9. Adam Elliott Real toss of the coin. Remembering that CNK was coping it from all angles on here. FWIW I would have ...

Re: 2024 Round 9 v Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews

I just hope everyone calms down about Stewart being left out. As an 18 year old the week to week grind of NRL is very tough. I have no issues with him either being rested or playing NSW Cup. It does not mean that he is not still a massive part of our future. I don't have a problem with Stewart bein...

Re: 2024 Round 9 v Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews

We proved against parra that we can use our speed, run smart lines and engage second phase play. So we can do it. Seems like we forgot how to, and instead use our wingers and centres to take tough carries off our own line. We've shown so little flare the past few weeks that's it's actually torture ...

Re: 2024 Round 9 v Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews

If there's one change and one change only I'd like to see in the team this week it's hooker, both the 9 and 14 need to change. If there's a second change, then it's Whitehead in for Sami the Sausage. If there has to be a third change, then it'd be Crotic for Schiller. I wouldn't be replacing Weekes...

Re: 2024 Round 9 v Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews

Hard to see us going much better without a genuine halfback in the 7 jersey. Doesn't really matter who we drop or bring in if this isn't addressed imo. We should try Cook this week but really we should be looking to buy/loan a half for this season if we can't get Sanders here early. Other than that ...

Woolford hasn’t shown any more in previous seasons than Levi has this season. Much of a muchness between the two. But Woolf has certainly shown more than Starling has this season. I can't agree BJ. DL was missing just over 3 tackles per match in his 60 minutes game time this season up to last week....

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

I think that's true if we try to play the same way. With 2 running five-eighth's we will need to adjust our style to suit the players we have. We can't rely on a Fogarty style kicking game for the next 12 weeks. It's really more about that for me. The reason Parramatta have failed is because they t...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

They will need him - Origin period. Kaeo Weekes has signed a 2 year deal. Flying a bloke in for 4 weeks and saying to Kaeo we don't think you're good enough isn't good management IMO. Had the potential to create unnecessary waves within the playing group. We're not that desperate at the moment. Add...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

I doubt Pezet would be going anywhere tbh. Why would the storm let him go unless it was a fair dinkum Harry Grant situation. They would have to be able to get him back at any point they like if one of their halves go down. Munster is playing injured and is far from 100%. He will need to be nursed t...

Number 4 action item is to hint around for external options. If we have to do the Strange/Stewart/Sanders thing and pluck the most promising 16 year old hooker in the country for overs, so be it. I think with our young spine we should be looking to prioritise bringing in a bloke with experience at ...

Starling only played 14 minutes even after Fogarty didn’t play the whole second half. He needs to be dropped. Levi played 75 minutes - so either get Puru in there who can cover hooker as needed and actually cover other positions. Or have Woolford start and Levi on the bench, who can then play hooke...

Time to drop Tom starling! Sick of seeing him at 14 I'm with you there 100% - get Starling out of the NRL side. He played less than 15 mins last night and does not add value when he comes on. There is a lot of assumptions here that Kayo is in next week. Don't be surprised if it is Cook - he has been going really well in NSW Cup in the 7 jumper. From what I've seen I'd prefer Cook for sure. Weekes can't defend which is a serious concern. His best role is probably back up fullback, if San...

Don't think it favours either team. Brings discipline and tactical kicking into play a bit more. Depends on which team handles it better on the night.

Wild how many people are sperging over predictions that Ricky will probably pick his favourite, Hopoate, over Schiller. I think Schiller should hold his spot. He's got a very good try scoring ability- he can finish with speed, he's athletic in the air and tall (becoming more important in the short drop out era in a number of ways too) and he has that bit of creative unexpected spark too. Based on last season, I thin...
