Re: Canberra Raiders set to extend Ricky Stuart’s contract to end 2022

I wonder if other clubs are sniffing around? I don't think we should be so hasty but there are some godawful coaches in the comp, ours is pretty good so probably makes sense to extend. Sent from my SM-G570F using Tapatalk You would have never caught me saying this in the preseason but I think it's ...

He’s the perfect #14. This forum hates him though, ha.

And you’d ruin your salary cap trying to fit him in. I think trying to find that sort of player would really top off the squad’s balance though.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

If we insist on playing Tapine in the middle, then i complete agree with the above. If we get Bateman into lock and roll with him on the edges, i'd hang on to him and let the kids walk instead. Agreed. There are plenty of clubs that would benefit with Tapine in his preferred position at second row....

Re: Are we premiership contenders?

There were a couple moments that really stood out to me as far as showing how much the team has evolved. One that comes to mind was that strip we got late in the game... we'd been denied two attempts by the refs earlier and they could have gone in to their shells and put the strips away for the gam...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

As for us it would be good to pick up an experienced middle for a bench impact role I reckon, our forward pack is solid but wouldn't hurt to add that competition for spots if we can Yeah couldn't hurt. Should always look to freshen up the squad each off season. Sutton isn't suited to the bench and ...

Re: 2019 Rd 23 V Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews

How about Bateman 11, Sutton starting at 13 and Young on the bench Pat? The only reason why I'd have Sutton starting at lock over Horsburgh is for reasons others have mentioned i.e. Sutton not being as effective off the interchange as he has been in starting roles and the fact that Horsburgh has be...

Re: 2019 Rd 23 V Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews

I’m with Hors off the bench as it’s a key role in the modern game. Our bench props are forming a good combination and Papalli and Sia are starting us off well too. We are very balanced at the moment and players know their roles. If Tapine is injured then who off the bench starts at lock this game f...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

If I were pretty much any club in the NRL I'd be targeting Arrow in the off season. I don't expect us to have a crack because it will be out of our price range presumably. But he's at a crap club going through a rebuild and he's off contract after the 2020 season. Perfect scenario for a club to sign...

I wouldn't mind seeing Young come on for the last 20-30mins at second row with Bateman shifting to lock... would give us a fresh player attacking an edge that's been worn down and brings Bateman's niggle and staunch defence to the middle to close out the game. Wouldn't mind seeing it for the Manly g...

Re: Are we premiership contenders?

I was of the belief for a long time that we'd ultimately fall short for areas were lacking in such as kicking from our halves but they proved to me tonight that they're definitely capable. We were putting pressure on them throughout the match and didn't let the errors get to us this time. It was gre...

You'll have to search long and hard to find me accuse a player of collecting a pay cheque and not trying his best. I think i've levelled that charge at one person in the clubs history. I know that we were "in" those games we lost against the top sides but I think with our squad's ability this year we were always going to be right in those games. Closing them out is a different story which we've learnt in past seasons is crucial. We're a shot and a really good shot this year if we ...
