Re: Rugby League 2020

On the fence about expansion. I think Perth presents a good opportunity but the last expansion (the Titans) has been a ****. That should be addressed first IMO. Justin Holbrook is the best Aussie coach we've had over here since Trent Robinson. I don't think the Titans are going to be a failure much...

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott decision not expected before next week

I hope Greenberg doesn’t watch the Curtis Scott video evidence on the in-flight entertainment system when he’s returning from the UK. Movies always seem much worse on a long haul flight. I sat next to a person on my last flight who watched Keeping up with the Kardashians for 14 hours straight. Now ...

Very disappointed that Super League allowed this bloke to be registered and very disappointed in Les Catalans, as I would be with any rugby league club who did so. The good thing to come out of this is the near universal condemnation from the rest of the game. Super League had no choice, but to reg...

I'm guessing you're thinking of Thomas Bosc.

Here's some highlights of Gigot

I can't imagine they'd be a better value backline cover player anywhere.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2020

I'd like to see the club make a play for Tony Gigot. He's a French international and has just left Catalans after, apparently, falling out with the hierarchy. He's an excellent full back and stand off, and a very serviceable centre. I've no doubt he's good enough to make it in the NRL and he'd be a ...

You may have seen over the last few days what has happened to Mose Masoe in a pre-season game for Hull KR. After a routine tackle, a disc slipped in his back and pinched his spinal column - paralysing him. He'll never player again and the current prognosis is that walking again will be a good outcom...

Ooh, a first post mystery recruitment tip. The plot thickens. @MrPosh, who's the kid likely to be? Ronan Michael is coming over from Huddersfield for the year. He's a young prop and already an Irish international at 19. Interestingly, he's actually Irish, which Brian Carney aside, is virtually unhe...

Considering the English pitches have what seem to be 5M in goals, that is a positive. Not every club is like that. Most have a proper in goal. I think Williams will be the best half at the Raiders, this year (I think he'll do well and I'm not a huge fan of Wighton - I think he's a decent player tha...

He'll need 6-8 weeks to bed in - especially as Bateman, who will be his key man, is still over here.

After that, I'm confident he'll be the best half at Canberra. At his best, he's a class above Wighton.

He's just getting the names from me on here, isn't he. You should be getting your 6% mate! What do you think of those named in the article? Most likely to succeed? Smithies is nailed on. Papa was a really good second row. He's a world class prop.

If I was the opposition, I'd rather face a team with Papa in the second row and Bateman on the bench.

If Josh Papalii can stay fit and healthy it's another top four finish and a shot at winning. If a second middle can find some real go forward, to supplement and support Paps then it's in the bag. This probably has to come from Horsbrough or Guler - but if there is an opportunity to acquire some addi...

Williams is capable of stepping forward to cover Hodgson in the event that he leaves the field, so I'd expect the 'roaming' player at 14, rather than the dummy half cover.

I think BJ's close to the top of the curve and the best teams have a knack of releasing good players at exactly that point.

Just noticed Williams has been punted for Hastings... Interesting call by Wayne. The defence was crushing, but all three tries happened because of the sheer will of the attackers involved. They were only half chances that turned into tries on the back of effort.
