2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 are all taking points off each other this week. Despite our poor form we could be back on the cusp of the top 4 with a win here. It really is a must win on Friday, there are no excuses. Storm and Roosters after this game. Gee we're in trouble if we get beat by the dragons...

Re: OFFICIAL: Bateman 'won't be at Raiders in 2021'

Firstly, to those trying to act like this isn’t a big deal. Bateman leaving is a huge hole in our squad. We hadn’t seen consistent application (particularly in defence) across an entire season until he came to the squad last year. As I have said a number of times in other threads - we were 0-4 with...

I actually don't think it's as big a deal as some are making out. I'd like to think what we built last year had more to do than 1 player single handedly turning it round. And I have every confidence in Hudson Young going on to be an outstanding 1st grader. It's disappointing but the sky hasn't falle...

Re: OFFICIAL: Bateman 'won't be at Raiders in 2021'

Replacing him won't be too hard. This isn't a halfback or a hooker. Plenty of quality out there and we should have the right money to buy a very good player, instead of a Joel Thompson who's not much more than a run of the mill footballer on the last legs of his career. Yeah the question is do you ...

I hope we have used Curtis Scott as a bargaining chip. ‘Jonneh, we will release you from your contract with no transfer fee if you take Scott to Wigan as well.’ But seriously, we should be making some very quick phone calls to Joel Thompson’s manager and trying to get him to stay in Aus for a 2 yea...

Our attack isn't great at present but it was never that flash at any stage last year. Think I'm right in saying last year was the fewest amount of points we've scored since 2014. '17 and '18 we were among the best attacking teams in the comp. Fat lot of good that did us. But we made the gf. We made ...

Re: Canterbury Bulldogs reportedly targeting Nick Cotric

I don’t think Cotric played well at centre last year. He did a job for the team there. He’s more damaging on the wing, but he’s well below his best form at the moment. Has been for a while. He played centre v Souths last year and was close to the best player on the field. Has centre written him all...

We had plenty of chances in their red zone, and Hodgson, Williams, Wighton and CNK came up with 6 points That's never going to be good enough Curtis Scott is a major problem right now, no denying that, but we shouldnt have been beaten by a team playing 2 men down who put up on 14 points 3 men down ...

Whichever way you spin it, that was an awful loss. Verging on embarassing. Depressing thing is we rarely looked like scoring. It's not like we created heaps of chances and were bombing tries. We barely troubled them in defense. For a supposed elite hooker, blimey Josh Hodgson makes a lot of poor dec...

Is there a chance Hudson starts on an edge? Tapine lock Horse bench? Would make sense. I'm not sure where Young would play when he comes on if he starts off the bench, both Tapine and Whitehead being 80 min backrowers.

Not sure he's suited to the new interpretations. And it's hard to judge if he still has his best football in him or if he left it 3 years ago... Obviously any team with the Turbo's, DCE and AFB in it is dangerous and can beat anyone on their day. They haven't been going that good though, and their bench is ordinary. That's where we get them...also we rarely beat them at home so not that fussed about playing at Campbelltown.

Metres gained can be a deceptive stat as well, particularly for a fullback. The bulk of those metres would've been from kick returns. And when Rapana and Cotric are your wingers, the better halves aren't kicking to them... Having said that CNK's workrate could never be questioned. My only real criti...

Rapana is still much better than Simmo at this stage. He has to continue to start the rest of the year IMO. Disagree, I really think Simmo is more threatening now. Defensive intensity. That's all I was I was looking for tonight. And we got it. Bit clunky in attack, but that'll come the more games we play. Kept them to 6. If we're doing anything this year it's on the back of our defense not our attack. I think that's a good win. They were desperate.. wasn't lon...

For the record I love Hodgo. The good far outweighs the bad. Completely different style hooker to Smith. Certainly the most creative hooker in the comp. Not the best by a long way though imo.

Re: Cameron Smith finally dethroned as best hooker in NRL... by Josh Hodgson

Smith is the all-time best and still extremely good. His skill is consistently high-level decision-making with very few errors, which he can still do and will probably still be able to do for a couple more seasons if he chooses. But Hodgo is more dynamic and more of a threat. He’s also more capable...
