Knights all of sudden have had some great recruitment. Schiller as a backup winger/centre with starting upside is a good pick up.
We should look at a winger that's an Arial threat but my guess is we just pull up players from our development system and not make signings.

Re: Coaching issues
Levi isn't the issue. His service this year is better than woolfords last year and he is looking pretty good so far. The structure in attack was there but with no fullback to exploit the space created. I lost count of the number of times fogs or the second rowers had acres of space next to them for...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day
There was space everywhere but Chevy was no where near it. He is 18 and first game but it might be a rough few weeks in attack until raps gets back.
That left side 6, centre and wing are so deep in attack they were no chance. Very disjointed but a win is a win.

If your going to pay sanders 500k than it has to be 4 to 5 years to get a return on investment. I think the 700k to strange is pretty crazy 5 games into his career. I do however accept that the raiders do not try to extract value out of contracts and will generally bump contracts if they believe pla...

Cronk was better than JT. JTs career was over rated. Great player yes but not deserving to be on this list.PNGRaider37 wrote: ↑April 9, 2024, 9:46 am I think the "GOAT debate" (Johns, JT, Locky, Stuart,Smith, etc.) Need its own thread...

Mariota is just slinking through games at the moment unnoticed. For me this is game needs to be a bit of a marker for Mariota. I play him at 13 with smithies at 12 to start and he has 30 mins to take it to Parramatta. It'll be a good test because Parramatta are a more physical pack than ours, he get...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Well Turuva first made a household name for himself playing fullback for Fiji and it's his preferred position so I don't think he needs to be "converted". I also don't think 21yo premiership winning fullbacks who can also kill it on the wing are a dime a dozen. Besides, we currently have ...

We were outworked and out enthused, coupled with errors and that's the game. At the end of the day fogs is our half and we know what he does well and doesn't but we do need to see some playmaking from strange at some point weather good or bad. We need to see more from Mariota also. He has really str...

Puru is an interesting one. He looks really fast this year which again is a thumbs up to the fitness coaches but if he is not the back up 13 and that goes to hors if smithies gets injured than I would probably release trev and play him starting 9 with woolford off the bench. If he isn't back up 13 t...

If we were looking at england 9s for me it would be brad oNeil from the warriors. He is a robust 9 who is defensively solid and can play in the forwards. He isn't exceptional but there are very few of those available either here or in England. Other option is one of Newcastle's 9s which for me would...

I had noticed both the mistackles and the low work rate but sometimes you see what you want to see... men lie, women lie... numbers dont 2 games is admittedly a very small sample size and that could very easily normalise over the next 3-4 weeks and i'll check back in on that after round 5 but i too...

The players he “lost” left. Hodgo, Bateman, GWilly, Sutton. EW stayed and backed the coach, got rewarded for his loyalty. Not saying it’s the smartest decision by the club because he’s still here 3 years later on big coin and not contributing. But it’s happened. I have no agenda. Ricky makes some g...

We are a small team who likes to fly under the radar so its to be expected.
Do we even have a rivalry with another NRL team.
We should get more than a footnote but we also have to cultivate a media following.

I'd assume EW would make his way back through NSW cup. Hors coming back would mean Mariota drops back to NSW cup. Assume savage is there to also back up rapa then the question is who is better hoppa or cotric. Hoppa is better rucking it out, Cotric is better defensively, Hoppa was better in attack last game. Either hoppa gets better in defence or cotric gets better rucking it out. It's not anymore complicated t...

Cotric dropping out is probably about right. Having savage spell rapa when needed is a better option than hoppa or cotric spelling rapa and hoppa had a pretty good game, probably our best outside back from an attacking perspective. Personally I want to see if savage can keep some consistency and see...

The Knights hype never made much sense to me They're a Ponga team... and he's always going to be a player where if you get him on the wrong day, you're probably losing the game. Saulo has been good. Right side defense has been good.
Left side attack has been non existent and is only a matter of time before it's broken open.
Strange needs to get into the game and start calling for the ball.

Smithies looked exactly as advertised. He is a great defensive player. He dominates the ruck and provides time for the defence to get set. If Ethan Strange doesn't get the 6 jumper to start the season I think Ricky is making a mistake. He outplayed Weekes in both trials both with and without the ball.
