Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Liam Henry, Lindsay Smith, Riley Price, Luron Patea. Liam Henry in particular is going to be a mainstay for quite a while. With JFH departing they lack leadership at prop. I don't see Leota filling that void.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
No. Penrith have the "upcoming youth prop" line covered in their squad. They'll be looking for someone with a bit more experience.

Re: 'We definitely 1 million per cent want to keep Trey': Raiders keen for Mooney to stay
I feel like Saulo has either been told (or realised himself) that there are some young guys gunning for his spot. Guler has been dropped, so if he didn't start providing a bit more impact he could suffer the same fate. He's certainly playing with more noticeable intent the last few weeks. That's go...

Re: Newcastle Knights sign Canberra Raiders back James Schiller
Good luck to him. He wasn't going to crack centre here and Dane Gagai is off contract this year. I guess Gagai probably heads north to finish up his career, or they tack another year on and Schiller plays wing for another year.
In my 17 while he's playing well.

Is it possible to legally change someone else's name? This double take of Stewart vs Stuart is not working for me.

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day
Ricky was quoted saying he thought Mrs Badger had done a good job. In hindsight maybe she didn’t. Winning the game put Ricky in a better mood than Des. I have no doubt whatsoever if Titans had of won the game our coach would have went full psycho. Considering what we now know about the 28 set resta...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Trevilyan just needs time. He has had a very disrupted start to his career and if all he "achieves" is getting through this year and the next pre-season without a major injury he's going to take a massive leap forward in 2025.

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day
While not a pretty win , it showed us how to fight and scrap for a win. We already knew how to do that, that was all of our wins last year. We need to move beyond that level of play against crap opposition. Scrap for wins against the Storm or Broncos. We should be putting the likes of the Titans to...

Re: Coaching issues
I understand Levi being gassed in the middle after 50mins if we're talking a 50/50 or worse possession game but we dominated that game everywhere but the scoreboard. For a guy that has survived for years off being a good trainer this is the game you needed him to figure it out, if he was ever going ...

Re: Parramatta Eels still hoping to hold onto Raiders target Ethan Sanders
Except they picked Blaize, who is the same age and had even less NSW cup games. He hasn’t even played in the halves. Now they pick Asi, who has no kicking game to speak of and has been pretty meh in his first grade games. He has been worse in NSW cup in the games I’ve watched this year as well. San...

The drums have been beating long and loud on this one. Most league journos have talked lime it's been a done deal for 6 months. Will be stunned if it's not officially announced this week. I'm still not sure how it could have all happened since we're not allowed to negotiate anything till now. From ...

Re: Coaching issues
I think it only happened due to Hosking's issues. We had to burn 2 interchanges when plan A would have seen him play 80mins and Starling comes on for Levi in a straight swap. I would have left Levi on for the full 80 with the possession we had.

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day
Man the Titans defended their arses off in the first half. We could have easily been up by 24. We get them last week and I think a similar score to what we put on the Eels would have been on the cards. We really went away from the plan in the second half. Far too wide too early and just allowed the ...

Re: Ethan Strange agrees to terms for four year contract extension
I really don't think it's that strange. Fans of other clubs are generally not watching every game, nor are they keeping up with our NSW cup side. Our options for replacing him were Kaeo Weekes (who Manly fans were certain had nothing to offer at 5/8) and a young kid who played centre for u19s NSW a...

Re: 2024 NRL Round 6: Teams and Game Day
Nice energy by Crossland to help get them back in the game but they really needed better direction in that last set.
Whether Cogger over called or Brailey just chose the wrong options they needed to get their strike player more involved.

As julian mentioned earlier, contract talks aside, he's not the right choice for firsts anyway. If this was 2025 it'd be a different story but Sanders is not ready for first grade and Asi is their best choice.

What's 200k/year on the cap in 2008.... that's ~20% of the cap. That's way, way above Cleary haha. Probably different rules on 3rd party and top 30 back then that skew the result, but man what a buy.

Quite surprised to see Cook dropped. He's been all effort even if he's dropped off a level in form. You would think he could find a spot over someone like Chee Kam. Tallis Duncan not being in the side at all is crazy. Davvy Moale is a good addition though. Beast mode in cup last week. 69mins, 272m (...

Re: Parramatta Eels still hoping to hold onto Raiders target Ethan Sanders
Yeah some cup sides are also so out of whack because of first grade or players playing up a grade to develop you have to watch them play like it's a trial. Looking at individual skills and effort rather than the overall sides performance.
