Re: Junior Blues back Savelio Tamale signs two year deal to join Raiders

People are certainly giving each other a lot more line breaks (re: Smithies on the weekend) due to people running good lines as part of the team structure this season, that's for sure. Certainly beats everyone standing around flat-footed and the playmakers being expected to "ball play" ou...

Re: Sea Eagles set to offer Jamal Fogarty $1 million two year deal

Two points - in a year where Dylan Brown has just locked in a decade at over a mill, there is a reason we have not taken up an option on much less than that, and the only competing offer from any club is $500k. And..should Fog go I’m starting to think that the current ‘system’ of the 7 leading us ar...

Re: 2025 Round 4 v Cowboys: Game Day

Timoko needs some early ball. Right now he's only getting hit ups. He's a dangerous ball runner and we need to take advantage of that. His defense was a concern tonight. While that's on him I don't think he was helped by our structure. We had a compressed defense and weren't sliding like we have fi...

Re: Coaching issues 2025

It’s been a concerning trend for years now that the difference between our best and worst is too large. We seem to base so much of what we do on effort and enthusiasm and ‘bleeding green’ that it kills me, because playing at 110% effort is unsustainable. The age old adage that a team rises to the le...

Re: Canberra Raiders sign Newcastle Knights hooker Jayden Brailey on two year deal

To be honest the pace of service stepped up massively as soon as Pattie came on last night - one of his early passes wide to papa was a thing of beauty. Starling is playing some of his best footy but it’s all based of scooting from dummy half and creating some chaos. The guy has some serious deficie...

Re: Coaching issues 2025

Very happy with what I saw in round 1, and I really hope that we consistently play this brand of football as I think it suits us well. My caution is that the last few years have all had common traits - glimpses of change in early rounds that disappear at the first sign of trouble, like a fog injury ...

Re: 2025 Round 1 v Warriors: Teams and Previews *Teams p1

My concern based on history is that while we may see some green shoots, I 100% agree that early rounds should be played somewhat conservatively. It’s what happens after that which concerns me - I saw green shoots the last 2 years with aggressive defence, second phase play etc on occasions, but tradi...

Re: Raiders signing speculation 2025

I think it’s fairly reasonable to say some of Hacks best football has actually been wearing a blues jersey and playing centre. The fact he was playing 6 for us at the time in clubland doesn’t change the fact he was near the best in ground at times in the hardest matches in football. Seeing him at th...

I’m not sure how many times I’m going to have to repeat myself on this one (but I suspect many, many times), but it’s virtually impossible to be a good “ball player” at this level without the players both inside and outside of you running good lines and creating opportunities People don’t just ball...

Went down on a rock 3k in and fractured my fibula - had to hike 2k on it to get out to help.

Season over.

Core fans keep going to the pile that is the current stadium, so spending money on that experience is revenue neutral in the short term.

Expanding corporate opportunities drives additional revenue in the short term.

A new stadium fixes both in the long term.

I reckon I know the answer - but given if we agree to a transfer in the nrl we can cover a component of the players salary (ie the hypotheticals with Horse), can we legally cover Levi’s wage (or portion of) to play super league? We have the cap space, I have zero idea where our cap is going next year.
