Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2018

According to the lurker. Wonder if we are chasing anyone else: The Raiders are filthy with former Storm half Ryley Jacks, who signed with the Titans last week. Jacks all but agreed to go to the Raiders before performing a last-minute backflip to head up to the holiday strip last week. The Raiders a...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2018

I heard on the radio this afternoon that the Knights are $2.6 million under the cap for 2018 and Brown is planning on signing six more players to complete his 2019 roster. How could the Knights, with their fairly decent up-and-coming roster and having already added Lee and Ramien for next season be...

Re: Dunamis Lui named in NRL Academic Team of the Year

What are you suggesting? That the academic bar is not set very high in the NRL. Firstly, let me say I’m all for someone trying to educate and better themselves. Full kudos for Dunamis achieving a higher level of education and qualification. But for the NRL to have a team of ‘Acedemics’ that feature...

Methinks the Raiders are about to look pretty stupid.

My gut tells me when this is released to public their initial reaction of a 6 week ban is going to look very poor indeed.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2018

With the squad we have I'd take TPJ over Johnson. We have no trouble scoring points and Johnson is erratic. It's also by far the most realistic option. We are desperately short of another quality front rower. Imagine having a half that can kick field goals!? With that difference we comfortably make...

Just massively cheat the cap and sign both for 5 years. What's the worst that could happen.
Just use the Sharks precedent:

"Yes, there may have been cap breaches, but only for the 4 years either side if when we won the premiership".

Cordner didn't finish in the top five second rowers in Dally M voting. Look at his stats and he's not in the top five there, either. Re: Canberra Raiders Joe Tapine and Jordan Rapana named in New Zealand Kiwis squad

He’s a solid enough player, I guess, but I wouldn’t have him in the top five second rowers in the NRL. Prior to this year's Origin I would have (& did) agree with this sentiment. I thought he was the classic example of a player selected on reputation. But he was very good for NSW this year. Sent fr...

I’m not a fan of Fergo as a human, but his role for the Roosters is very similar to that of Radradra for the Eels, and the loss of him may just have a similar effect.

Personally, I think a lot of the Billy Slater "hate" is completely over the top. And a lot of it is driven by resentment of his success. Absolutely no doubt in my mind he's the best fullback ever. I'd be happy to sign him on a 3 year deal if it's south of 200k. At best, he develops into a first grader and we upgrade him before his 3 years are up.
