Re: Through green eyes 2024

Great memories GE. I have watched that GF probably a hundred times over the ensuing 30 years. I reckon I could almost recite the entire commentary. Kenny Nagas's first try and Daley's try were my favourites of the match "Oh, Osborne! Another great pass! Nagas down the left flank, in and away, a...

I reckon 850-900k per year and a 3 year deal would perk Crichtons interest, this teams window will open soon This guys staying in Sydney or signing a French or Japanese rugby team. Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita

An internal draft would cover movement of players already in the NRL top 30 players. Or you could include players on supplementary lists. It’s for established players. An external draft would cover those who are playing junior football, who have not entered the NRL squads. Ok, thanks. I can't see t...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita

Junior competitions don't offer the training ground that College ball does in the US. The only way a draft works in RL is if every player hitting the open market is included. I'm not advocating for that, just saying it's the price of a draft system. Yeah I guess that is kind of my point on the age ...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita

I don’t think people who volunteer at that level do it for their love of the Canberra Raiders. They do it for their love of the game of RL and for the kids they help, I don’t see any reason why they’d suddenly lose their passion for this kind of volunteerism. So I don’t think that would be an issue...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

Damien Cook? Could be on the chopping block at souths. They'll need to move some freight. Could offer a stop gap for us. I haven't seen him play this year, but from what I've read age seems to have caught/be catching him. I reckon he'd be wanting more than we're willing to pay to get him here as we...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita

External draft would help and most likely would make it through the courts. Internal draft won't ever get over the line again. Trading would be great but no chance the players allow it, they reckon you need an entire offseason to relocate. Contract restrictions like max contracts would help but the...

I don't think bot's post was unempathetic. He was laying out the reality in an attempt to simplify the situation for others that think CHN can simply be paid out to get him off the books (not withstanding the salary cap implications of such a pay out). I have been following this thread for quite som...

I have been critical of Levi, mostly for running at inappropriate times, but he played well. He seems to be getting more selective with when he runs. Starling is offering nothing. I don't think Woolford offers any game turning dynamism that warrants him being picked over Starling, so I'd like to see...

Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Game Day

Really liked seeing Strange expand his game tonight. His first 4 weeks have been "run first" dominant (which is fine for a rookie half). Was great to see him engaging the line and passing. Was also great to see him play slow at times - where he slowed down to then engage the line. It's a s...
