Re: Jarrod Croker's goal kicking

Croker been 80%+ throughout his career which is quite an achievement. Last year dropped to around 72% I believe. Certainly an aberration by his standards. I think he had the Goalkicker equivalent of the yips. Still a few teams wouldn't mind a 72% kicker right now. He's back on track this year and k...

I like that after under performing so much last week, and really all last month, we have really stuck it to the players by threatening them with no change ever unless forced by injury. Our tactics for this week are to defend our line and stick to the fundamentals... *End Sarcasm* We should be MURDE...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2020

Hmm reports from Euro rugby that Rona is staying with London Irish (Exiles) for next season... maybe Raiders weren't keen or covid is easing over there with cricket up and running giving winter sports hope? That would be a bit of a dampener. A hard look at our backline next season is grim reading wi...

Re: Canberra Raiders centre Curtis Scott denies he is heading to Canterbury Bulldogs

That’s the standard Scott is getting pass marks for now - “barely noticed him” Give HSS a crack please. I’d like a player whose ceiling isn’t that he didn’t screw up horribly. His defence was still mediocre at best- missed tackles, grabbing instead of hitting and shooting out the line and then miss...

Re: What's wrong with us right now?

True. It's flat or nothing on the right. No shapes. Why don't we ever run CNK on the right? With Jack I assumed it was just a bias he had so we worked with it. Is it just lazy habit they use CNK the same way? The solution is to let Jack or CNK float over there on occasion. Could also use a middle-as...

Re: What's wrong with us right now?

The highlights of GWilly I've seen suggest he can pass a runner into a hole. He has quite a nice short pass game but it's been mostly on the left. We also haven't paired him with a quality centre or good hole hitting edge forward. He's been chopped and changed out there with a makeshift in Oldy or a...

I am a CNK fan but he has not performed where he should have this year. Last year we brought him for peanuts he played well so we upgraded him. Re: Canberra Raiders centre Curtis Scott denies he is heading to Canterbury Bulldogs

Scott has made some decent hit ups since his return- improved his body position into contact (lower/less upright) and improved leg drive. Still can't tackle. Still shooting out of the line and missing, leaving everyone else stranded. I'm hoping there is more to come. Best use of troops might be Bate...

I actually think we looked better last night when Starling was on. I was getting frustrated Havilii played so long. Going forward I'd be looking at starting Starling and moving him closer to playing 80. Havilii on the bench as he can either be involved in the middles rotation or cover hooker if Star...

We look like a team that has spent 2 years focussing on building everything off defence. Our team is set ip that way, the buys we make have focussed on that. I really think holding onto Starling would be prudent. There is a lot of just assuming Hodgo will be good as gold after 2 knee reco's. It's a huge risk to be facing imo.

I guess I meant he could run with leg strength as almost a 2nd lock when he wanted to. Stuart was definitely faster over 20-30m etc. Ah yeah that's true. Once he developed Joey could play the "pocket battleship" type half who could tuck it under the arm and inspire with a good hit up ala Tommy Raud...

I dont think stuart would want Fergo at the club given how his departure went down. Yeah I think Sticky and Don are probably well past the need or inclination to do that. TPJ is a potential game breaker. There are very, very few forwards who break that many tackles and offload so plentifully and he makes yards too. I can't see us cracking the 4 less alone the GF with Jack in the halves. He is too inconsistent and easily distracted by peripheral things. Jack actually makes less kicking errors by a fair margin than Cleary, DCE and Moses. They all have more total kick errors and have played a few less games too. It's the handling errors and wonky passes he could tighten up. He'll always make some handling errors because he runs so hard and so often b...

I'd love the club to keep Starling. Hodgo will likely miss a portion of 2021 with rehab and it's a 2nd ACL comeback... we all remember Campo never got close to being able to run well after that. I've been calling for Rapana to have a go at fullback for years. I like the idea of him spending more time there. He is a great clubman and will most likely be happy playing wherever required. Fair to say that our halves/fb are not passing people into gaps quite as often as the best are. Our halves to to run through a hole themselves.
