Re: Canberra Raiders 2010s Team of the Decade: Halfback

My ideal 2010s team would have Campo at #7 and Wighton at #6 if I were building the team ala a fantasy team. Geez that would have been the best defensive halves pairing in history. Did Toots Snr ever line up in the halves alongside Daley in his brief halves stint? That'd be the only one I could thi...

Re: Canberra Raiders 2010s Team of the Decade: Halfback

Any team of the decade, century etc HAS to be determined on where the player actually played. It makes no sense at all to decide many years later, that a player should have played in another position. If they were THAT well suited to another position... they probably would have played more than 20 ...

Re: Canberra Raiders 2010s Team of the Decade: Halfback

My ideal 2010s team would have Campo at #7 and Wighton at #6 if I were building the team ala a fantasy team. The polling doesn't allow that, producing more of a "best in that position" than an ideal team. So I have to go Sezer. Which joker voted McCrone? Although when I lived in Canberra we used to ...

Re: POLL: Canberra Raiders 2010s Team of the Decade: Five eighth

Campese managed to have two purple patches in his entire career and that was it - second half of 2008 and 2010. Outside of that, he was an ordinary footballer. Even in the first half of 2010 he was poor and that's reflected in our ladder position. It's little wonder that we were dross for so long w...

You can’t pick Wighton for five eighth or CNK for fullback in team of the decade after each playing one season there! Jack shouldn't be picked in team of the year at centre, it cheapens that position for the other centres. He should either beat Munster (which he probably does to be perfectly honest) or he shouldn't be there at all. Yeah it's a bit of a trend at the moment in the game across the board. Origin centr...

Bromich and Murray over Bateman? Seems odd. Cook over Hodgo is rubbish. Is this the Origin award or best NRL award? Cook had nothing at the end of the year, looked a bit out of ideas and 1 dimensional. Jack and Munster was a coin toss for most of the year, but Jack finished far better in the games t...

Reading into what Mulholland says there he rated Williams and Sezer pretty similarly defensively and kicking but feels Sezer may be more developed as a game manager + George will ask more questions of a defence when running. Nothing too new there. Interesting was that they feel Williams has the pote...

I could believe that ranking if it was an assessment which didn't discriminate "which" emotion was roused by the team- everyone hates Melbourne, which is a very strong emotional reaction. No one gives a crap about the Titans. I really don't think "everybody hates Melbourne" as much as you think. So...

Given the sheer amount of our players who did well but have room to grow or were adjusting to a new position, I think we are well placed. I don't think you can play BJ anywhere except centre or #14 with a licence to wreak havoc.
