Re: What's your strongest possible Canberra Raiders 2019 line up?

Lui was quite strong in the trial, as was Hunt- they both got stuck in. They went just as well as Guler. What number did Sutton wear in the trial- is he slightly ginger? I think I had him confused for Horsburgh early on, but then I realised Horsburgh has a different haircut and I noticed he (Horsbur...

Re: What's your strongest possible Canberra Raiders 2019 line up?

How good was it to see him chasing Fergo? Looks in great nick to start the year. Still a loser though. Who are we talking about? Fergo got a break and got rounded up? Tapine. Was about the 2nd or 3rd man there. Provided the push over the sideline. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk :thumbsup COuldn...

Re: What's your strongest possible Canberra Raiders 2019 line up?

I know we get excited about our young forwards, but surely we're not starting Horsburgh against the Titans in Round 1? They are expected to start with a pack that has Wallace, Boyd, Arrow in the middle and Ryan James and Proctor on the edges. We couldn't be considering making a kid debut in round 1...

It’s a moderators job- if we’re already sacking Ricky before the first trial then by 2 games in he’ll have to change the title to “Wicker Man Ricky at the next home game!”

Re: Our attack

Papa or Tapine are needed to add some size to that front row.

Lui, Sia and Sutton ARE all small forwards. It’s not 105kg for a big man these days it’s 120kg+.

I think Fifita, the Burgii , Lolo etc are capable of bullying a pack like ours. It’d be a huge effort from Papa or Tapine to shut them down.

I love the Viking clap, but it should be used to 'rub other teams and fans faces in it' - when we win. Sent from my SM-G570F using Tapatalk I think that’s a bit hollow. sacrilege i know... but depending on what the goals of the club actually are... if the goal is to win a premiership, i wouldnt rush to extend Rapana. I get it- he’ll be a 31/32 yr outside back by then... not someone you want on top dollar. It depends if he ends up at fullback- where he could have a...

That’s gonna depend on a few things I think...

A) how good is CNK going...

B) how is the Jack in halves take 2 going...

C) is BJ his usual destructive self or does he look lost in attack/defence or even markedly better in defence somehow with Oldy there...

Ok, I guess Oldfield has slightly more experience in FG but if this guy was a FB/WING/HALF then he seems to have the better game for FB. We might see Wighton still run that sweep that made our left so deadly exactly the same & this guy just has to catch the bombs and support the ball & run hard whe...

Wow, a little bit of cold water might be needed just to temper things a touch. Ok, he looks a solid size, decent step, not a lot of toe for NRL back 3 standard- maybe why he's not quite cracked it. Looks like he backs up the footy and fights in the tackle. Should be OK on a wing- FB if he just trains the house down & grabs his chance. Oldfield to FB otherwise? Really one of yo...

I think whoever is in the middle will be better off getting a rest & providing more impact when they are out there. That way Havillii can play some quality minutes too, because I think he's a very good player who provides a real spark.

Oldfield is a big enough body and decent runner, Croker is wily enough at it, Cotric can do it all. Hopefully BJ gets involved there to take up Rapa's slack. It's an area I think we are reasonably well served in actually compared to a lot of teams.
