Re: The Cricket Thread

With the cloud cover on day 1, I reckon the best day to bat was yesterday. Question will be, will it break up enough, early enough, to allow the Aussies to win?
I suspect, if the Poms get 75-80runs before lunch, for the loss of 1 wicket, I think they will win.

I'm sure this is a bit harsh, but is it just me, or does Cummins appear to bowl better 1st change?

Poms need 359 to win.
Achievable, esp with 2 and a half days, but not exactly easy.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Id argue 67 at #3 or 78 at #4 makes sweet FA difference. Smith is best since Bradman. He will bat where he wants too, and so he should. I suspect it's at 4.

Re: The Cricket Thread

When I watched Labuschange bat at the SCG last summer, he played very straight. We were looking straight down the pitch and his technique looked good. For some reason he went away from that to play more angled bat shots and getting out cheaply. I loved the way he kept watching the ball when the Pom...

Re: The Cricket Thread

I'm not convinced Uzi or Wade put their hand up. So, a good chance that Wades 100 is the difference.

Labu looking the goods. Who'd have thought that?!? Out of all the debutant in the past yr, I had him way down the list as possible options.

Anything over 300 will be tough.

Good grief, Sean! Your team STINKS, and I think our current team would probably absolutely towel them up I think, if anything, it shows how poor this decade has been for the club, easily the worst ten year period since a nine year old Rickman first donned the green The 2000 - 2009 team would give i...

Re: The Cricket Thread

At this stage Labuschagne must be retained when Smith returns. 2nd innings could decide who makes way. Usi is the one at risk because Marnus can slot straight into no3. They could always shift Usi to opener but very harsh to drop Harris after only one test. They decided to give him a go so must get...

Re: The Cricket Thread

At least our #4 can bat, or we'd be down 2 nil already. 2x 50 on the trot, filling in for Smith, Labu should be there in the 4th and 5th. Glad to see Warner get some runs too. Uzi again enters the 'Mark Waugh zone', needing runs to prove his place. Wade also there, with a 100, and now 4 failures.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Agreed Azza. The claimed fast bowler selection rotation should see Starc in this Test after missing the first 2. There is no slope at this venue so Siddle will be less effective. So I reckon they should pick a bowler who will take his share of the 20 wickets needed. That's Starc. If Bancroft is dro...

He’s the perfect #14. This forum hates him though, ha.

And you’d ruin your salary cap trying to fit him in. I think trying to find that sort of player would really top off the squad’s balance though.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

Given the team we have at the moment. I feel Peachey might be a perfect fit. Can play at 9, 6, centre, edge backrow or lock. Means Ricky can pick whomever he want on the bench. You probably play him as a running forward wk to wk, and gives you an X-factor. Not gonna happen. Will probably still be to...

Re: Canberra Raiders Team of the Decade

It seems to be a common theme at the moment that various sources are naming teams of the decade. So I thought I would have a go for the Raiders. 2010-19 is my first full decade following the Raiders and with the exception of about 4-5 weeks in 2013 and almost all of 2014 when I was overseas for all...

Re: If you were the next Gold Coast Titans coach

I thought about that but he's just so bad at centre though. Makes bad defensive decisions. Finds it hard to make an impact against other players of the same speed when he's playing 80 too. He'd need to do a 180 for me to pick him as my 80min centre. I agree. I think he needs to be a bench lock, roa...

On current batting form I wouldn't consider it. Too much unreliability in our batting line up. No point in having an extra bowler if you're getting rolled for 150.
You dont think with the 5th bowler you have a chance of the same? Or defending that?
