Re: The Cricket Thread

No coincidence at all that we beat the ‘top team’ in the world when we pick Lyon. No wickets but created chances and went for 4 an over. Khawaja will retire and we’ll all realize what we’re missing. Most maligned player and he’s batting 3 for a reason. Come a knockout game and we lose one early we ...

Take your green goggles off boys. The injury rule has been around forever, and Ive outlined how it works. Hodgo has missed 3 games, which is plenty of time to get rusty - look at Tapine and Rapa returning after only 2 wks. TBH, he hasnt been at his best this yr either, and some of your guys have eve...

1stly, that Rahim can play. Another 100 for the Banga keeper.

Warner... WOW! Classy ODI innings til he hit 100, then Bull came back.

Nice to see Uzi get a score.

Maxy fireworks was fun too.

Tubby Taylor blocking the first 15 overs for a handy 10 runs while Slater knocked the cover off it !!

Re: Canberra Raiders forward Ryan Sutton should be called up to Great Britain squad

Im not sure he is an English rep level yet, but he should be in the conversation, and given he was an English A player already, he was already close. I agree that he is a lock more than a prop too. He has already proven he is a better starter than bench player too. Sutton could totally be a Funicane...

If Latrell goes to the dogs he will be asked to win them the game every single wk. He cant do it. He needs a decent player to feed him, the Dogs dont have that. It will ruin his career. As far as hitters vs accumulators, I think the balance in the last game was good, but rather its more to do where they are batting in the lineup. Warner - hitter Finch - hitter Uzi - accumulator Smith - accumulator Maxy - hitter SMarsh - accumulator Carey - hitter Bowlers... The only one out of plac...

Flanagan to Chooks. Could have been useful It’s on a development promise that he can learn from Cronk before taking over his position. So I don’t think other clubs were really in with a shot. Mind you, Roosters will dump Flanagan the second a better half comes on the market who considers the Rooste...

I like the idea. Not sure how you pull it off through. Ive always wanted to try the NBA/ NFL 'defense' chant. Somehow incorporating the Shield wall. No clue how though. Strange selections with all the backrowers for NSW, you would think Trbojevic and or Frizzell will likely play quite a bit of prop to make use of the likes of Graham, Sims and Murray etc, But having said that the QLD bench isn't exactly that threatening, Mbye, Glasby and Wallace wouldn't scare to m...

Sterling put Croker and Funicane in the same basket over the weekend, as 2 of the most unlucky non Blues in recent years. You can tick 1 more off that list. I think Croker regularly comes up in discussions, however, he is a left sided player, and that has always been the stronger side talent wise. I...

I just realised that there is only 1 centre playing Origin in game 2. A fullback and 2 x 5/8s have got the nod over every other eligible/healthy centre in the game.
...and the best centre in the game just got dropped.
That speaks more about the game itself more than the position IMO.

MM vs Stoinis: As a bat, I have more faith in Stoinis, and he has produced at this level. Both can clear the pickets though. As a bowler, I think Marsh is more accomplished. Stoinis is more a 'very capable parttimer' as opposed to a genuine allrounder IMO. They are both good catchers, and good in th...

His GKing was the difference last night. 5 from 5 vs SJs 2 from 4. Yep. His kicking won us the game. If he misses even one - like that one from the sideline where he's struggled a bit this year - we lose. I didn't fancy our chances in Golden Point! The way SJ was shaking his GKs, and watching the S...
