Re: Canberra Raiders looking to re-sign Jordan Rapana

Both Oates and Rapa are also happy to take a slight discount from top dollar to stay at their respective clubs. Oates I think would end up around 1.4 for 2 years. Rapa may want a 3 year deal.

Re: Canberra Raiders looking to re-sign Jordan Rapana

NRL 360 saying Corey Oats is going to be offered $750k a season from another club. Now this will be his manager talking it up to push a deal with the Broncos. I think $1.5 million over 3 years is a fair deal.

Past Raiders teams with most Internationals

With the possible arrival of George Williams, it got me thinking that the Raiders will have potentially 7 Teir 1 internationals (AUS, ENG, NZ) playing next year possibly 8 if Sutton starts getting picked. Thinking back back to the glory days I think this would have been about even with the highest. ...

Interesting comment from Kent on NRL360 regarding the Raiders having really on been beating teams outside the 8 and therefore haven’t been performing like the Storm and other top teams. Quick look at the Ladder the only top 8 team the Storm has beaten is us and Bunnies have only won 2. The Roosters ...

How many games did Wighton play at 6 last time he was there? I think I remember it being around 6 games. It was funny when Blocker in commentary said that Wighton is only 6 games of experience playing at 5/8.

We are 6 months into this years contract. Moving Sezer this year does bugger all for the value he provides. The fact that Sezer is 6 months in to this year's contract has no bearing on whether we should keep him or release him... I think it does. Looking at this this way. If his contract value is $...

A few good wins and people are claiming we don't need Sezer. If there is an injury to one of the halves everyone will be very thankful for the depth. I really did expected Young to be dropped. But it very normal that players in their first year get worn out after 6 or so games. I actually think we are a much better team this year. We lost 9 games last year after being in the lead at some stage after 65 minutes. Poor management or simply not being fit enough I think it was a little of both. But having a more nibble team should allow better scramble late in games and turning...

I am not sure how the transfer fee works on the cap. I assume it is averaged over the length of his contract. But no one in the NRL would pay $750,0000 simply as a transfer fee. You would need a 10 year contract for it to be feasible.

I can't believe it is only 2 weeks to the first trial game. I was just looking at the first 2 rounds. These end of season injuries are interesting with this new rule. The issue is if the player suffers a leg injury and is only going to miss the first 8 games it really is closer to a month anyway given they didn't have any real preseason and is therefore generally not at the same level. NRL has handed down their punishment. Can't change that due to retrospective public outrage. NRL just make stuff on the fly.
