Re: Canberra Raiders sign Wigan Warriors half George Williams on three year deal

There are at least half a dozen halfbacks in the comp that defend better than him. He's also missed the 8th most tackles and is 10th in tackle effieciency out of the 16 halfbacks. Me thinks you're just making a lazy, generalised statement which tries to sound smart but has no factual basis whatsoev...

Re: 2019 Finals Week 1 V Storm: Game Day

More than a little irony in the fact that Klein gets dropped after a game which I thought was one ofhis best yet in the last couple of months he has absolutely destroyed games by uneven refereeing and not been dropped as he should have been. I don't rate Klein as a ref, too inconsistent, too fixated...

I dont believe in raking over the coals of a game, but while Annesley may be right about the sin bins missed he should have mentioned the Vunivalu hit on Croker as well.I recall a couple of instances where that got a binning and I reckon Vunivalu deserved it for a cheap shot.

One conference would have games spread from NZ to Melbourne, Brisbane, G Coast, Townsville, Newcastle and Canberra plus two other locations, probably Brisbane and Perth. The others would just need a bus pass.

Its nearly 40 years since I got my refs ticket but I don't remember the Soliola rule at all. I don't dispute that it now a rule now, or even back then. But it does seem nonsensical a bit, and I'm not whining because it went against us in this instance. I just don't believe that a player who has par...

Re: Through green eyes 2019

I thought Havilli was worth an extra point, and I thought you were a point too generous to Cotric who was still off the pace in the first half (when we had little ball) but he came home with a wet sail in the second when we had the ball. Bateman, CNK and Croker were excellent, Hodgson and Sezer pred...

Re: Retain or release?

Rapana last year and beyond was the best winger in the NRL by a fair margin. Since then he has had injuries which have caused some drop in form and effectiveness, but he is still a top class NRL winger. But time, the enemy of all physical players, is not on his side. He probably only has three seaso...

Most here are critical of the Raiders for their first half efforts, and I sort of see their point, up to a point. But I felt at the time that keeping the score to 18 which included the **** try of the year was a great effort. Most sides would have been blown off the park in the circumstances we foun...

I agree with Matt in the Sezer /Cronk battle. Cronk seems to be just going through games with as little effort as possible lately, it is definitely time for him to retire. He knew that beating the Titans would not require much of him and held himself back. I believe he anticipates a torrid time in t...

When Jarrod came into the team it was at the back end of a tumultuous few years with the repeated Todd Carney sagas, but we had a bright looking future with the premiership winning under 20s team coming through featuring an abundance of talent. We then saw the emergence of Campo and it seemed we we...

I won't argue with the definition of "Journeyman" arrived at here, but I think of blokes like Clay Priest who come from nowhere, late, shine brightly at a club before moving on in pursuit of better options and disappear. Prior to Priest there was a bloke named Bell who played centre/wing back in the...

Possible that if Cotric starts in the centres, BJ might replace him late in the game to get some minutes and confidence whilst Cotric is rested or moved to wing or fullback to rest another.

Yep, as designed to appease a club which spends as close to zero as possible on juniors, the system allows all those players to be classed as local products, but only Radley is a local.
