Re: Canberra Raiders reportedly settle three year deal for George Williams

Jeez, blaming Sezer for a perennially poor Titans mob never making the finals during his tenure there is a bit rough.
I am of the opinion that most games this year when he has been fit he has been fair to pretty good for us, about where the bulk of halfbacks lie in the pecking order.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

A bloke who probably knows what is in the pipeline told me that the Pommy frontrower is a bigger chance for this year than the Pommy halfback who is for next year. No guarantees but.

I find it a bit hard to compare Oldfield and Kris, but Kris is a centre playing centre whilst Oldfield is a winger who can fill in at fullback or centre. I am happy to see this selection.

Canberra Raiders prop Sia Soliola sees things through others' eyes

It has come to my attention that Sia Soliola is once again taking part in the Vinnies fundraiser to counter homelessness here in Canberra on Friday night. He is a very admirable man with his good work off the field, and perhaps some of you might be in a position where you could make a donation by sp...

Despite all the soothing noises coming out of the Roosters camp I wouldnt be too surprised if they decided that Latrell was more trouble than he is worth.

Re: Are we premiership contenders?

In 2016 we had a magic run to the finals but then suffered attrition due to injuries, by the time we met the Storm in Melbourne we were shot to bits but good enough to get close. If we had made it to the GF we would probably have been embarrassed.

I thought Papa was. A sensational fortnight he has had and then led the way in the yardage game against the niggle-a-minute Sharks. Tackle efficiency looks fantastic as well. Surely that's an 8 M8.
I agree re Papa. Marvellous effort.

I tend to get hyperbolic when watching games, but this morning while I was having my weet bix I re-watched the second half with a bit more objectivity, we got absolutely hosed by the refs the whole way through. It wasn't even 50/50s breaking towards the Sharks, it was 90/10s. What about when the pe...

When they had the mid week cup, it happened regularly. Pretty different game back then- only a 5m rule to get back to, 85-100kg forwards and 75-80kg wingers without all the weights work smashing into collisions. would not surprise me if the game went back to 5m rule one day (for safety reasons) Any...

The reality is that we've only won one game over the past month and it was against the worst side in the competition. We might be missing some important players but so were Manly, Roosters and now Souths and they all managed to beat us. We've reverted back to our old habit of losing close games but...

Re: 2019 Rd 9 V Roosters: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*

Neither Mitchell nor Tupoe are good defenders under fatigue, Tupou is poor at turning to chase kicks through the line. Maybe the idea is to insert Simonsson late in the game and use the raw speed and agility he has from his sevens days in an attempt to work over those two. Probably not a bad tactic ...

I read an article about L Mitchell today in the Tele praising his weekend effort. A bit of an analysis of his efforts show he is a dynamic player, but off a low workload. I wonder if teams made an effort to involve him in a heavy workload in defence would it reduce his attacking prowess. I must admi...

Allan Tongue on ABC radio gave Hodgson 3 points, I can't remember the order of his other two but Papa was onre of them, probably Croker the other.
In a very defensive gameplan I was also impressed with Bateman, Sutton and Wighton alongside the usual suspects.
