I believe he was best mates with Blake Austin. I also believe he should go to England and renew the relationship.

Re: Gold Coast Titans 2019

Adelaide is a declining market both demographically and economically. It is never going to be an NRL town. Easts are a club with an uncertain future which is hidden by its current success. They have no juniors, no viable junior competition and few supporters, albeit those few supporters they have in...

Jeez, they were both poor, but Broncos got reffed like it was their glory days. Ben Cummins does like to see the favourite get up.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

Yep, as designed to appease a club which spends as close to zero as possible on juniors, the system allows all those players to be classed as local products, but only Radley is a local. And even he was paid for in his junior days by Souths Juniors as Easts don't have enough junior clubs to run a loc...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

There is a very good reason Nick Politis ensures he is on any NRL committee that studies the Cap and any related aspects of the game. He is there to make sure that developing juniors never results in an advantage to a club. Hence the various allowances for long service are meaningless, and will neve...

Those two referees and the Bunker staff should be dropped to U15s for the rest of the year.
Refereeing like that is bringing the game to ridicule.

Re: Canberra Raiders reportedly settle three year deal for George Williams

I dont think Milford would have a problem being the primary half, i really dont. i think his problem is that his style of play, his natural style, his insticts did not fit with the robotic style that Bennett wants and needs for his teams and now what we have is an insanely gifted, talented football...

Yep. Going on current form if we came up against Souths, and perhaps Easts in the finals, I would be quietly confident of winning whereas against Storm I would only be hopeful of getting them on a bad day.

Went to a funeral the other day, a bloke I used to play football with nearly fifty years ago. He was a real good bloke, very popular. Sad to see him go out after a lingering debilitation. G'day Edwahu. I see and acknowledge your point, and I certainly don't reject it, but I wonder whether it would be better to just grade them once, happened or didn't happen, as guesses as to intent are just that, guesses. The NRL judiciary has had a shaky reputation for judgement for decades and I th...

Re: Canberra Raiders forward Hudson Young takes early plea, will miss five matches

The charges should be broken down to their basic component parts. Swinging arm, gouge, raised elbow, lifting tackle etc all should have a basic minimum sentence and after that is determined a second discussion should be held around the physical effects of the foul play and its impact on the affected...

Re: Canberra Raiders reportedly settle three year deal for George Williams

It is pointless comparing the statistics of a Thurston, Cronk and a regulation half such as Sezer. The first two are once in a generation players who miraculously both turned up in the same generation, much like Stuart ans Langer. By definition those players are not readily available in normal circu...

Jeez, blaming Sezer for a perennially poor Titans mob never making the finals during his tenure there is a bit rough.
I am of the opinion that most games this year when he has been fit he has been fair to pretty good for us, about where the bulk of halfbacks lie in the pecking order.

I find it a bit hard to compare Oldfield and Kris, but Kris is a centre playing centre whilst Oldfield is a winger who can fill in at fullback or centre. I am happy to see this selection.

In 2016 we had a magic run to the finals but then suffered attrition due to injuries, by the time we met the Storm in Melbourne we were shot to bits but good enough to get close. If we had made it to the GF we would probably have been embarrassed.
