Re: The Politics Thread 2019

LG OLEDs are going for $1800? Damn... if I didn't already have one I'd be all over that. ... and now to the reason I came here: How about those dodgy apartment blocks in NSW, eh? A lot of red tape is there for a reason. I don't understand the obsession with putting the free market up on a pedestal a...

Re: Huawei re-signs as Canberra Raiders major sponsor

Hearing on the grapevine we had another potential sponsor offering a better deal but for some odd reason our CEO wouldn’t sign up to having Don’s Smallgoods across the front of our jumper??? http://www.quickmeme.com/img/13/13d966cdc55ca69934294b5953bedc98e41148c3eb74165710df2d73905dee38.jpg In any ...

Re: Canberra Raiders making major sponsorship announcement tomorrow morning

If nothing else, you have to admire their tenacity. Banned from 5G on the enterprise-side, consumer business falling to pieces due to US trade restrictions, yet they're still willing to sponsor the Raiders. It's genuinely surprising. On the other hand, Huawei have so much money that we're practicall...

No idea what you two are on about, but there are some topics it's best not to engage in rational debate about. So it looks like a bunch of gun nuts in the US, who are used to having Australia's laws used in arguments against their lunacy, are using the Darwin shooting to rub their 'ideological superiority' in Australia's face. Re: The Politics Thread 2019

I see your point but I disagree with it. The greens for example if they finish with 9 or 10 seats thats more then 10% of the 76 seats. Equally the fair right divided amongst 4 or so parties get about the same amount of the vote yet might end up with 2, 3 or 4 seats. Now I am sure if the far right O...

Imo this is garbage for one the senate is less representative the house of reps due to state vote distortion with nsw voting in 6 senators and Tasmania also have long 6 senators. The Senate is going to be interesting, I think - here's an ABC prediction somebody screencapped: You need 39 to pass anything. LNP + One Nation + Bernadi = 37. Seems like nothing's getting through without support from either Labor / Greens / Centre Alliance. Lambie alone wouldn't be enough, but she...

It was the same in the ACT... you had to pick six if you voted above the line in the Senate... and there were really only two options I was comfortable putting a number beside. Doesn’t matter if you vote independent, at the end of the day you have to preference one out of Labor and the Liberals. Not so. A good win. Was getting a little shaky towards the final minutes, even though Penrith were never going to come back.

We still apparently gave away 10+ penalties, that needs to improve if we're going to beat the Roosters.

According to Maloney, Penrith had the wind this half. Tough ask for them to come back from 14-0 with the wind against them.

Penrith have got a good few breaks, but it's all falling to pieces for them shortly after.

Well that one's a bit of a reality check, I think. 5 and 2 is probably a better reflection of where we are than 6 and 1 is. The first 20 mins was very good, then after Rapana's injury resulting in the edge reshuffle, and a LOT of penalties against due to ill-discipline... it all went downhill. We've...
