Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Surely they must be close to their cap limit, they have some pretty decent players, and halves surplus, another year or so and they'll make the 8 now their board has improved too

Re: 2024 Round 8 v Sharks: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Depends who has been kicking at training, my guess it would be Chevy kicking goals.
This is the 1 game I would bring Woolford back in to start, try and get 50 minutes out of him, my point being he will get our forwards rolling and he will give the young spine time and some space for our faster backs

be nice to have some height or size on a wing, Chevy and Sav bring the speed but I worry with Asomua we'd be quite height challenged Sent from my SM-S911B using Tapatalk Chevy brings speed? Not sure about that yet. Seems to be "fast enough" like a Dugan or Karmichael Hunt. Nowhere near Sa...

I've been one of Schiller's biggest fans.
Up until now, what we need is a defensive winger and I think cotric played pretty good in cup.
Straight swap there for me

Re: 2024 Round 8 v Sharks: Teams and Previews
Does anyone have any idea what Woolford has done wrong to be punted from the FG side? I thought last year our attack was much better with him on the field. I attributed (right or wrong) the 2nd half fades last year to when Papa, Taps were off yes but also Woolford off and Starling on. Now is the ti...

Re: 2024 Round 8 v Sharks: Teams and Previews
Hoppa (and Kris playing FB in 2023) at FB just reeks of short termism. I want to see Chevy develop his game in FG to when Rapana comes back in the side. Hoppa’s not going to win us a premiership at FB. We need to see what Chevy has got. Proud that he stood up in the second half. I think hoppa to fu...

We still have a spot in our top 30, should promote Cook if he gets through today's nsw cup game unscathed. Weekes' defence isn't up to fg standard. 1. Stewart 2. Savage 3. Kris 4. Timoko 5. Shiller 6. Strange 7. Cook 8. Papalli 9. Woolford 10. Tapine 11. Young 12. Sasigi 13. Smithies 14. Puru 15. Ma...

I think if Weekes wants to play first grade, he should focus on wing or fullback
He has speed and skills, but bad defence, so he needs time in cup in those positions to work on things

And all fogarty needs with a bomb is height, it gets our defence downtown and hitting the catcher seconds after he gets the ball.

Looks like weather is going to be wet. Not sure who helps more us or the Broncs Don't think it favours either team. Brings discipline and tactical kicking into play a bit more. Depends on which team handles it better on the night. If Fogarty's kicking is on then it will favour us for sure Wow, you ...

Re: Newcastle Knights sign Canberra Raiders back James Schiller
Good pick up for the Knights. Disappointed to lose him tbh. I hope we go away from Cotric. Surely there is a young gun somewhere we can pick up. Asomua and Savage should be our wingers for a while with Hoppa as a back up. Regan Carr seems like a good prospect in 21's but we probably need another to...

Re: Ethan Strange re-signs with Raiders to end 2028
I don't think everyone is realising how POTENTIALLY successful this new era could be. Imagine locking Strange, Chevy and Sanders up long-term. They are arguably 3 of the highest rated prospects in the game, seemingly all very good mates, and in key spine positions that could win us lots of games. H...

Now this may ruffle a few feathers but I don't mean any of this in a derogatory way. I think all ref's male or female should be treated with respect. I watched the game with my Mrs at a pub in orange and had no sound. The referee lost control of the game in my opinion and when she called penalties t...

Not sure that Woolford is a suitable bench player. He is solid and good at delivering crisp ball to get the forwards rolling forward and defends well but doesn't offer much in terms of a running game and basically every time he kicks its a disaster. Starling at least brings a change in style that m...
