Let him cook, guys! His boy Trump is returning to his seat of power and this time America has gone full fascist, this is 100% dubby's time to shine Trump is not a fascist. Neither are his supporters. A fascist would limit free speech, would tell you what you can and can't say and moderate the heck ...

Re: The Politics Thread 2024
I've not learned a lot about RFK. I just found his interest in the overall decline in health quality in the US interesting, and I caveated that by saying I found his interview with JP interesting. I'll gladly admit I didn't know he was an anti vaxxer. I'm happy I learned something today. That's the...

Re: The Politics Thread 2024
I feel like this is kind of like explaining the hearsay rule but there is a difference between asserting an opinion versus asserting a fact. An asserted opinion that “the macro conditions of US economy are quite good” is an opinion which should not require a “source” to verify. How can it? What con...

Re: The Politics Thread 2024
Your perception of Jan 6 is severely distorted its beyond the point of trying to discuss with you. Rather than just throwing the toys out of the cot and saying there's no point discussing this, I'd genuinely love for you to explain to us how you think January 6 went down? Because, I largely agree w...

Re: The Politics Thread 2024
Turns out, yes, we were all wrong. Precedence has been upended, and we will learn from it and have to (tragically IMO) adjust to a new political paradigm where the foundations and pillars of liberal democratic institutions are not as steadfast as they once were. Indeed... i've been stuck in the wor...

Off the crutches and back onto the trekking poles? I imagine it's going to take quite a few months to get back to where you were, particularly after 18 weeks of relative inactivity?

Re: 2024 England Test Series
Considering Samoa are is full of NRL players, I’m surprised they have played so poorly against England. Much like the Panthers getting beaten every year in the World Club Challenge. These are guys who get carved up by the likes of Bevan French and Matt Dufty, how are they so hard to beat? I only wa...

No. I think it’s an indictment on human intelligence. Because you don’t fix the problem you raise by electing Trump. You don’t get better government by voting in someone worse. I think the Republicans (and perhaps the LNP here…) know that this election or next the public will tire of the incumbents...

Is there any reason why Samoa is playing this series instead of participating in the Pacific series? Did they just opt out? In last week's matches (Pacific) they were talking about promotion and relegation between the Pacific groups and I was curious as to where Samoa fit into that. Maybe they stru...

Kiwis need a better option at 6. Maybe Dylan Brown is injured, but CNK should be at fullback and play Kino as an impact player off the bench. Even Foran would be a better option than CNK.

Re: Recruitment
We have made it known we have backed the youth path. No doubt it's played out that way because of the lack of first grade talent coming our way. But we have recruited the top of the class youth. Sticky and the club are backing themselves to turn them into first grade talent . It's going to be bumpy...

I guess there has been no interest in Levi from other clubs, so we've just accepted he'll be here. Such a dumb move to re-sign him.

Some good moments from Wigmore, mixed in with a few poor defensive mistakes. But up against a very experienced Jennings and Kikau combination. The young fella really gave it a good go though. I'll be keen to see how he develops.

Re: Ex Raiders... where are they now?
It's been reported Manly may look to sign Bateman. Has 2 years left on his contract at the Tigers. This one makes perfect sense to me. I hate him as much as the next Raiders fan and I think he’s severely regressed as a player. But If Manly want to win a comp while DCE is still kicking then their bi...

Re: 2025 Round 1 v Warriors: Teams and Previews
I think Nicholson will get the starting spot ahead of Hoskingsons. Hoskingsons is a pretty useful bench utility. Edit. Preferably one of the younger guys gets a crack before Hopoate. And it took most of the year for the coaching staff to realise our side was better balanced by splitting Tapine and P...

The Canberra Times have now reported that the club will let CHNs $700k contract for 2025 run out, with him performing the role of runner for the NSW Cup team. He has a contract option in his favour for 2026, but it would require him to play a certain number of games to trigger the option. Basically...

Back in the real world now. @Coastalraider it felt a bit unnecessarily difficult though. Never want to see people getting hurt for a hobby and there was a bit too much of that for my liking. What a great team and another great performance. I'm disappointed about that Howarth no try call. Looked pretty good to me and would have setup a really good finish. https://www.instagram.com/p/DAx0oIMJK50/ Interesting angle on the Storm no try. Was a try by the naked eye. Just Atkins again showing why he's not up to it, whether onfield or in the bunker. Roosters aren’t going to do anything next year. Losing Keary, Suaali’i, JWH, Manu, Tuponuia and Walker and Smith are out for a period. Enter Townsend, who had been dropped for Jake Clifford. Radley will be suspended half the year. Tupou and Tedesco another year older. $12 is way to short. I reckon ...

Walters ? We're still trying to offload Levi. Let's not double down on bad recruitment at hooker. I wouldn't be at all surprised if a factor in sacking Kevvie was player discontent and potentially players threatening to leave if he wasn't sacked. Rumours of Staggs and Cobbo leaving.
