Re: Jarrod Croker and Nick Cotric set to re-sign with Canberra Raiders

Additional “middle forward” they severely lack too. BJ to Prop will be the thing on Tigers forums. Honestly, if he’s fit and motivated (along with the fact we’re paying a decent portion of his contract) it’s likely to be one of the most significant purchases the Tigers have made since Scott Prince....

Re: Jarrod Croker and Nick Cotric set to re-sign with Canberra Raiders

Edit: misread what Seiffert wrote. Statistically, Croker is middle of the road. However given that he is a reliable safe player, and there is a shortage of elite level centres in the comp, I rate him somewhere between about 5 and 8. That warrants a decent contract, so $600k for 4 more years, for a b...

Re: Jarrod Croker and Nick Cotric set to re-sign with Canberra Raiders

Interesting to note that old mate Clarkey from “Clarkey’s Rugby League Column” rates him as the number one centre in the NRL. Not too much disagreement in the comments - few people saying Joseph Manu should be ahead. Raiders fans are arguably the harshest judges when it comes to Croker IMO. He is r...

Re: Jarrod Croker and Nick Cotric set to re-sign with Canberra Raiders

I’m ok with the length of the deal. As mentioned, if he’s physically busted he’ll be medically retired. Otherwise he’ll go out on his own terms and retire at 34, having hopefully taken Cam Smith’s point scoring record. For the amount of overrating that goes on, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see ...

Re: $7.7m Triple treat: Jarrod Croker and Nick Cotric set to re-sign with Canberra Raiders

Given how highly the club rates Croker - we should be thankful it isn't more than $600k!

Still wish we'd kept Joey but. You get a gun centre, middle forward, intimidating attacking weapon, all rolled into one.

Re: 2020 NRL Nines: Teams and Game Day

I’d rather see an NRL touch tournament.

Each team pulls together their top 12 touch players.

Benji, Papenhuyzen, Moses, Ponga etc all running a muck.

Less injury risk, better participation of the most entertaining players.

Re: Matt Frawley elevated to Canberra Raiders top 30

I get the feeling Bateman (or even Whitehead) are going to see a bit of the centres this year. Can’t say I’m too disappointed with this though, Frawley looked very good when he began with the Dogs but then just fell off a cliff. Hard to judge him harshly when that club has been a shambles for the la...

They’ll have a crack, but he’s already part owned by Arrowfield and a lack of Group 1 wins hasn’t stopped them in the past. It’s the type of blood line they’ll bend for to accommodate. Not a Single Doubt, more recently Scissor Kick and Panzer Division (although quickly moved on) - never landed Group...

Well done NR! How did I miss this....I was glued to 78 watching the full card at Caulfield instead. Another 3YO colt looks set for stud, but great to see it being another son of Redoute’s. Yes Yes Yes off to stud, following an injury. He’ll generate significant interest due to the Everest win and it’s a good move commercially, but gee it sucks to see 3YO’s retired without a Group 1. So disappointing for him. And shocking timing, he won’t play a game until March 2021. That’s nearly 2 years off. Interestingly, I got in touch with Luke Covell to ask him about his artificial ACL. Given he has told his teammates he won’t be sticking around, he has obviously locked in a new club. So I’m tipping it to be the Roosters. He’s the perfect signing for the Tigers. They’ll really appreciate his hittups, imposing attitude and strike power. They lack severely in all 3 of those departments. CNK is probably still on unders, but he probably won’t be for too much longer. He just got an upgrade. He'll be on 500k (reported) for 2021-22-23. Which will need to be upgraded fairly quickly if he continues on his current trajectory next season. I don't see that happening, I'm not concerned that ...
