For me, the Project got better once Waleed replaced Charlie.
I’ve only just got back into catching up on the news. From the US election - probably last month I didn’t read papers, didn’t watch news, just had enough of the world.

Re: Where do you get your news from?
I mainly get my news from The Project. “Newspaper” wise, I usually lean towards ABC or SMH. I actually get most of my views and thoughts from TheGH actually. It’s probably the best place for me to see both sides of the coin. My world views are generally pretty fluid. I’ll have an idea on my views, b...

I can't watch it. I watched one full season a few years back and I can't stand all the fake drama. I also hate those shows that show you what's coming up after the ad break. Its all just filler for a lack of content. I will confess the season I watched was a train wreck but I get the impression it'...

Thanks mate, just re-read it. I agree, the show knows how to pull at the heart. We watched the ep where the Girls School puts on the Supernatural play. Their acapella version of Carry on my Wayward Son absolutely got me I’m a bit worried, I’ve avoided spoilers, but the ending sounds like it’s a bit...

Got around to watching the Kelli Lane doco on Netflix. Something's not right there. For those out of the loop, Kelli Lane was a Water Polo player who was accused of murdering her baby. She reaches out to a journ from prison, who investigates the claims. It was interesting. So this is a woman who had...

One of the most disturbing things is that the NSW Police Commissioner did not himself immediately see the conflict of interest. In my experience most public servants are highly attuned to them and avoid them. Really? I’ve had a different experience with Public Servants, so I wasn’t surprised. Maybe...

Advertising dollars require ads. It amazes me that so many people put up with ads everywhere, I've been running an ad-blocker for years. Gotta give credit to the technologically-illiterate, if not for them I'd probably have to pay for some of these free services. Soaking up all the malware and ED a...

Let’s also be honest... in that Facebook and Google have managed to become highly dominant in their new markets. You break that up with good competition policy. Anti Trust laws are contentious, but they have them in the US. Some of their business practices are awful. But that’s an entirely differen...

This is a long game fellas, let me explain: 1. Facebook strips news. 2. Australia stops getting all their political news and commentary via Facebook. 3. Australians only actively seek out news sources, no stumbling across dumb **** selected to perfectly appeal to their vices and biases. 4. Australi...

Yeah watching through Supernatural, and their 15x 23 ep seasons, you see there’s episodes that are just fillers. Compressing it to 6 - 10x 1hr shows I find improves the quality. Plus Tina Fey made a point having less eps a season also means less writers on the show, which improves the quality of wri...

Just finished watching the Cecil Hotel / Elisa Lam doco on Netflix. It wasn’t too bad. 4x 58 min eps, but I think they could have condensed it to an hour, hour and a half. Felt they spent too much time with the websleuths and the history of the hotel.

Just watched Into the Wild. A little bit long, but otherwise a great movie. Based on a true story. Is that the Emile Hirsch one where he goes roaming the wilderness? Yeah they do. I was getting around that by adding bourbon essence and bourbon barrel wood chips in the secondary after fermenting.
Apparently it’s the way to do it when you don’t have a bourbon barrel

So my Bourbon beer did not work at all. It didn’t ferment, so I popped the bottle and it just tasted like the sample pre-priming. Back to the drawing board. I’m thinking it might have been because I put the bourbon essence in during fermentation. Next time I’ll put it in after. In the meantime, I’m ...

My view is that if you're paying more than $20-$30 a month for your phone plan (excluding handset repayments), you're probably getting ripped off big time and could save yourself a ton by switching to another provider (voracious data fiends excluded). The 'plan' I'm on, you pay for a year upfront a...
