Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

I just really want us to sign a first grade half or Fullback so I can unrealistically get my hopes up for Raiders 2019 only to be let down. I need that consistency in my life. This has to be the most underwhelming start to a season as a Raiders fan. Sent from my iPhone using The Greenhouse mobile a...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

Meteorologists are professionals who use evidence to make reasonably accurate predictions given the size and complexity of the system they are trying to predict. At best the Mole is a reliable outlet for a strategic leak that can easily be denied but IMO he's another contributor to the shambles that...

List updated... Bulldogs have two trials scheduled for Saturday 23 February, one against the Raiders, one against the Wests Tigers. The Raiders clash is now at a venue TBC rather than Bega. Clearly the Bulldogs will be fielding an ISP/Under 20s outfit against one of the clubs. They won't get many p...

Everyone knows the Mole clutches at straws he's similar to a weatherman. I highly doubt Edwards is happy to play reggies waiting 4 DWZ to maybe get injured surely that's not the case.
What a bizarre comparison.

If the Mole is right and we don't have the money for Edwards we are pretty much **** in 2019 unless we have a miracle run with injuries.

Every second player signing in the competition is preceded by statements from all and sundry that the player is staying put. Edwards is coming off a season ending injury and is currently pencilled in for reserve grade in round one (assuming DWZ starts at fullback). If we can't afford or can't presen...

Re: John Bateman signs with Canberra Raiders

He'll be similar to Alan Tongue. I don't know what everyone else is expecting of him. Defensive terrier with half decent hands. I think he will be more like Greg Bird. Ball playing backrower/lock and can get grubby. Disagreed. Fair bit smaller than Bird and with less ball play from what I’ve seen. ...

4 forwards on the bench.

Havili, Lui, Guler and Sutton but wouldn't be surprised if Bateman or even Horsburgh nabbed a spot.

There's a fair bit of far-right support in QLD. Last election One Nation got about 9% of Senate first preferences there, which is more than double any other state. If there's anywhere far-right figures can get elected, its probably QLD. Last time around he was elected from the One Nation ticket tho...

3 goes into 3.

Tapine , Whitehead and J.Bateman will fill the backrow roles.
100%. Papa wore the #13 in 2018 but his game won't change one bit if he wears the number 8 or 10 and Papa making the shift is easily his best chance at getting back into the Kangaroo side.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

The NRL can't dictate where someone plays. Provided the Raiders present a reasonable argument that Rapa was a frontrunner to replace Wighton at fullback there won't be an issue using his dispensation to help secure Edwards.

I'm just watching matches from earlier in the day from the Raiders Team Day on Fox League. Thompson was identified by former NRL and club official Alex McKinnon and Knights list manager Troy Pezet during a seven-day talent scouting trip made to Fiji last year. “I recall two things. No conviction was recorded against Scott Bolton. He's on a 12 month good behaviour bond. Charges of indecent assault were withdrawn, he agreed to the charge sheet facts which alleged "common assualt", which basically meant he agreed he grabbed a woman's upper thigh in a bar: https://www.nrl.com/new...

10 weeks was fair enough. He got hammered and behaved like a twat.

Pearce was hard done by IMO but it occurred as part of a team function and was witnessed by teammates. But it was much more lenient than the trial by media handed to Joel Monaghan.

Shifting Cotric to fullback (and Wighton to 5/8th) would be a change you'd have to make early and stick with.

Given this is a make or break year for Ricky, I can't see him taking that big of a risk.

I predict Sezer will flourish under greater expectation, without Austin in the side. Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2018

I'm not worried by any of the blokes we've recruited for the forward pack. I am pretty worried about our lack of depth in the backs, which is why I can't see Wighton making the shift to the halves.
